Rae, you are only a quitter if you quit for good. Sometimes it's best to take a break and recharge yourself. Sometimes life puts too much pressure on us all at once and at those times it may be best to quit one or two things in our life to relieve that pressure a little bit. Wisdom is knowing when it's time to qit for a while and when it's best to keep plugging away at things.

No. Absolutely not. We all must make life choices based upon our circumstances at any given time. If the energies surrounding us are forcing us to consider a new path -- whether it relates to a job, home, family, or any other "life crisis" issue -- then go with the flow. I believe that if you are meant to stay and fight for where you are and what you are and what your life is, then it will be easy to do so. But when it gets to the point where you feel overwhelmed completely, then you are being forced by those energies to take a new direction. GO WITH IT.

It is always best for us to be palm trees instead of oak trees in the darkness of a hurricane. When uncontrollable pressure comes at us from all angles, we must bend, upright ourselves, dip again and bend again, as the palm. If we are oak, we are uprooted and totally destroyed. If you are starting to feel like an oak tree in your hurricane, see if you can transplant yourself to a new environment (job, relationship, anything). It is not about quitting; it is about moving forward; it is about reestablishing balance.

A quitter, Rae, would actually stay and force themselves to deal with whatever pressure is there, because it is "known" pressure. This is the easy way out. Change is always difficult to face, even if in the long run it will benefit us. Change means you must leave behind that which is familiar and face the unknown.

Dare to be different.

Quitting is sometimes the wise choice.
If you are doing something that isn't working for you, and are only continuing with it so as to not be a 'quitter' then you are doing yourself a disservice.
If you are certain that whatever pressure you are under is not ever going to let up, you really need to decide if its your right path.
Everyone faces uphill battles sometimes, but when its constant, maybe the universe is trying to tell you something.

No, every one has a breaking point. Don't sweat it. Sometimes we just need some time away from the pressure. If time away isn't enough, then reconsider. You 're not a quitter. You've had enough. That's not failure, that's wisdom.

It depends upon what the pressure is from, I guess. Since this is in "religion & spirituality" I can't help but wonder if you're referring to life or God or something...

Regardless, like others, sometimes you have to walk away, but, of course, not without a fight. If you have hope, there's a chance things will work out.

You're a quitter if you quit. The reason for quitting is irrelevant.

Yes, however, some things are not worth spending time doing. Only you can make the determination as to whether or not what you want to quit is worth your time to begin with.
