My 15 year old son has been asking for one beer per week. I have been giving him one beer per week. I have recently reconsidered this idea. I am conserned that he will have health issues in the future, and possibly become an alcoholic. I have heared in the past that alcoholism is Hereditary, However, I love my son, and I don't want him to blame me in the future if he has problems. Remember, This is only one beer a week, not Spirits. Thank you for your input.

Okay first off, giving alcohol to a minor whether he is your child or not is against the law and you can be arrested for it. If DHS were to find out you could lose your son and go to jail. That alone would be enough to stop me from giving my child alcohol.
Secondly, no 15 year old should be drinking period. If you let him have 1 beer a week then what if your not around. He knows that 1 beer is okay, so if he sneaks a few it's okay. Maybe he invites a few friends over while your gone and pretty soon you have an alcoholic son and a half dozen pissed off parents at your door.
I think 15 is too young to drink, one beer might not hurt him physically but it will mentally. It teaches him that underage drinking is okay.
As parents we need to be role models to our children. You need to teach him that drinking in moderation is okay but only at the legal age of 21. There is a reason that is the law. Young people just can't handle the responsiblitly of drinking. Period.

besides the fact that it is illegal, which makes you a criminal, one ounce of alcohol, will destroy 100,000 brain cells, true we have alot of brain cells, but over time, it does have an effect. Letting him drink this young will probably leave him a drooling idiot by the time he is fifty. Not to mention what it does to the liver. If he had a beer and then say had a headache and took some tylenol, he could shut down his liver and die. Don't be so stupid, be a dad, and stop this now before it gets out of hand.
