If we cannot heal someone does that mean that we are not filled with the Holy Spirit?

These are Jesus' words...."He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do.." John 14:12

God gives some people the gift of healing but even to those people they don't have the power to heal someone according to their own will but only as God leads them to heal a person according to His will and his plan for how they are to use that gift.

If we cannot heal someone does that mean that we are not filled with the Holy Spirit?

Of course not.

1 Corinthians 12:7 To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. 8 To one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. 11 All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills.

Hey it's No*no
First it's Not the Holy Spirit. It's the Holy Ghost. They are not the same. The Holy spirit leads and guides you. But the Holy Ghost is the evidence of speaking in tongues. Basically being filled with a part of Jesus. But to answer your question. We and the person have to believe that they would be healed. But it we are not filled with the Holy Ghost, then no we can not heal. G.B.

No, it only means that G-d did not give that person the gift of healing. Each and every person on this planet has been given certain abilities, talents, or gifts; that we are supposed to be using for the betterment of all people. It is through the Holy Spirit that these gifts, talents, abilities are bestowed upon us.

Look into 1 Corinthians; Romans; and Ephesians - this should help you to understand Spiritual Gifts. And be sure you read these entire books, a common mistake that people make is to "pick out a certain verse or verses" and chuck the others aside. This is how Christians came to be called "Bible Thumpers". Because certain individuals have practiced (are still practicing) this "method" of erroneous interpretation.

Those days of having the Holy Spirit enable one to Heal stopped over 1900 years ago..why say that?
If these special gifts such as tongues, healing and prophecy are so vital today, why did the apostle Paul write: “Are there prophets? their work will be over. Are there tongues of ecstasy? they will cease.” (1 Corinthians 13:8, The New English Bible) The evidence shows that with the passing away of the apostles and those whom they ‘laid their hands on,’ the holy spirit’s miraculous gifts passed away.—Acts 8:17; 14:3.

Today, there is something far more important for Christians to display as an indication that God is working through them. It is something all of God’s servants must have. The Bible says: “There are three things that last for ever: faith, hope, and love; but the greatest of them all is love.” (1 Corinthians 13:13, NE) Since this is the case, one must look beyond things like tongue-speaking for sound evidences of the work of the holy spirit in our day.

According to the Bible the Holy Spirit decides when and where and thru whom the gifts of healing operate.

Let me suggest you read First Corinthians chapters 12 and 13 and 14 to learn how those gifts are supposed to work in the New Testament Church.

You are healing them and yourself even if you think about healing once. Healing is the tranfering of positive energy and sometimes it takes a few sessions for it to take place fully and sometimes just a single thought with no need to bodly transfer. It all works with the intensity of thought and the need to. The same way when you are thirsty you NEEd water and go for it, energy also transfers to where it is being recieved as well as transfered correctly. For it I recommend having a pure heart with pure intentions. They do miracles. It also has to do with your own energy because if you are too tired then how do you expect to heal. Eat good pure food. First energize yourself and then direct where needed. I tell you this because you have a good intention with the want to help others and yourself. Good luck and email me when you accomplish even the smallest or biggest healing event. The key behind all this is Love. And if the love is for God (unconditional) then you have everything. Be positive, Smile, then do Positive, then appreciate the Done. :)

//(Ps. This is a human ability regardless of what religion or sect or country we belong to. But having faith is one of the essential components. Have faith that you are in the process and that you have already done faith healing and watch it happen into the present. :) )

No, not like how the disciples healed people. I've heard the verses on healing aren't supposed to be taken like on the spot, right before your eyes physical healing. I guess emotional healing and stuff like that.

Remember: you either have the Holy Spirit or you don't. If you desire to read the bible, pray, praise God and give your life to him, I guarantee you, you have the Holy Spirit.

Read 1 Corinthians 12 again.
Gifts of healing may or may not be bestowed upon you.
The chapter states clearly that it is the Holy Spirit who distributes the gifts to whom He wills.

So, you may have other gifts, but not necessarily all of them, and still be Spirit-filled.

Absolutely. But it requires faith and trusting God in His timing and according to His will. Sometimes we truly believe that God will heal someone fm cancer or pneumonia, but God may have allowed that sickness upon that person to reveal Himself in a more intimate way and to increase our faith in Him even when we do see immediate results. We must still believe and trust Him at all times under all circumstances whether good or bad. But no, because the person doesn't get healed on the spot does it mean we are not filled with the Holy Spirit. It is a gift from God upon accepting Christ into your heart. God's gifts are irrevocable. He doesn't take it back. He's a good God.
