Contradictions, distortions and nonsense in the Bible are part of what made me realize that the Bible is a worthless waste of paper.

Scholars have had 2,000 years to study the New Testament and even longer to study the Old Testament and there are sound answers to everything that people less knowledgeable about scripture think is a mistake or a contradiction.

Nonsense is a matter of opinion, what makes you think certain things in the Bible are "nonsense" and what facts led you to that conclusion?

What do you believe are distortions and how did you arrive at that belief?

I do love it when people of other religions try to answer a question directed at a Christian. Why do this? I don't understand.

Some things, you must read the context around them. This may be a few pages before the particular verse you're reading. The Bible takes understanding. On all levels. There are no contradictions. Reading a 2,000 year old+ book takes interpretation, you must understand the times these people were in, and with what knowledge they had to write God's word.

Don't be a fool. Just study.

When I come across scripture that I do not understand, I look at other interpretations from other Bibles, I look in concordances, I can even look in a lexicon at the Greek and Hebrew. Finally, I pray to God for understanding. Usually, I get an answer. Some things in the Bible are actually learned through experience.

The english bibles that we have are probably not perfect interpretations, but I believe they are good enough for us to get the intentions of the Word of God. Read it, study it, over your entire life. You will find that The Bible is the greatest book of all times.

Only always? Isn't the approach -- the "program" for you to follow is clear, any deviation is punishable by....... :)) Jesus weeps when He sees what drivel, and violence is being propagated in His Name.

Here--read *Gnosis of the Cosmic Christ* and enjoy some semblance of what He actually had in Mind. And for the truly "adventurous and open minded, see, also,

The modern "church" should be ashamed of itself.

So called "contradictions" are either translation errors or errors in understanding the passages. There are no distortions or nonsense in the Bible. There are just people who don't understand what is written and so rather than ask for competent help they blame their ignorance on the author.

I don't see those things when I open my Bible. I see the TRUTH. You must be reading the satanic bible.

When I read your name below your avatar, I see a distortion, nonsense, and a contradiction. Are you discouraged?

There are no contradictions in the Bible. There are a bunch of poor interpreters who are looking for any reason not to believe the Bible.

The Bible never contradicts itself. Many scholars have studied it. It never does... not a single time. So no, it doesn't discourage me.
