Would you do it because, 'it was law'?

Would you do it 'for their own good'?

Would you do it because it would get you a better seat in heaven?

Or would you do it because Jews killed Christ?

I've often wondered which reason all those Lutherans in Germany gave themselves.

Forgot to add the links to what other Christians have said about ratting out people who trust them:

yaw: Nazi Germany happened. Nazi Germany was a Christian country, primarily Lutherans and Catholics.

Insensitivity isn't an issue, except on the part of folk who've already admitted they'd rat out their own families for a better seat in heaven, and claim it was for the good of whomever they ratted out. [links above]

Mark: Likely as not I've read the Bible more times than you have. But if I'd only read the answers to the earlier questions, and knew the history of Nazi Germany, that would be enough qualification to ask.

However, I've run into people such as yourself enough in life to be qualified in any case.

I was born after the war,I have no family,42 relatives I never had the pleasure to know, were killed in various camps.Several were turned in by their Christian neighbours, who were rewarded with their house or property.Slime exists in any faith,I do not hate Christians,I avoid Sunday Christians, who profess to love God,but promptly bash anyone who dosen't conform to their narrow views.Jesus accepted EVERYONE,as followers of his teachings, shouldn't Christians be doing the same?

Based upon the historical record of Nazi-occupied Europe - not just Germany - the answer is "yes, In a heartbeat".

As for today, given comments oft-repeated comments about the so-called "Patrior Act", such as "What's wrong with giving up a few freedoms for security" and "You have nothing to worry about if you do nothing wrong", the answer would have to be "In less than a heartbeat".

"Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."

Everybody of course is going to say that they wouldn't. But let's be real. A lot of people did rat them out. Nobody can say for sure what they would really do in this type of situation. I think we all would like to think we were the guy hiding Jews under our sink and sneaking them food. I like to think I would, but until you have the barrel of a shot gun down on you or something, you never know.

Slander..... Does Not Become..... A..... Real QUESTION!

IT appears the YOU ... ARE NOT QUALIFIED..... to ask such Questions..... as You have Never Read or Studied the Entire Bible!

OF course the Jews..... as a Religious Sect..... Crucified Jesus!

(Mar 15:9) But Pilate answered them, saying, Do you desire that I release to you the King of the Jews?

(Mar 15:10) For he knew that the chief priests had delivered Him because of envy.

(Mar 15:11) But the chief priests moved the people that he should rather release Barabbas to them.

(Mar 15:12) And Pilate answered and said again to them, What then do you desire that I should do to him whom you call the King of the Jews?

(Mar 15:13) And they cried out again, Crucify him!

Instead of.... WONDERING...... " About Lutherens......?" How about Obeying GOD....?

(ActS 17:30-31) Truly, then, God overlooking the times of ignorance, now He strictly commands all men everywhere to repent,

(Act 17:31) because He has appointed a day in which He is going to judge the world in righteousness by a Man whom He appointed, having given proof to all by raising Him from the dead.

Thanks, RR

No one can say with absolute certainty what they would have done back then. However, I hope I would have disobeyed the law, because it conflicts with Christ's commandment to treat others as you want to be treated.

Of course, as a gay man, I would've been rounded up, forced to wear the "pink triangle" and thrown in the concentration camps with the Jews anyway.

I refer you to my earlier answer - relating to the 'likelihood doing more harm than good.'

'No,' not at all.

Sash (who's just passed his his '9000th' point level and will be holding a part in the old rectory tonight top celebrate. Please bring a bottle and a bag of sticky / chocolate buns / doughnuts) .

I would like to take this opportunity to say a BIG 'Thank You' to all of those who've made this possible by donating so many silly questions so frequently..

Do you realize many, many people lost family during that horrible event? Why are you being so insensitive? We will never know why certain people as you say "ratted out Jews". So, why even bother bringing it up?
