Although its not finished here on Aug 3, I think it deserves a redo because I suspect that the answers given and the chosen answer will be paltry. I will keep an eye on it and if a good answer comes in then I will write about that also.

Answers r entertaining so far. Here’s my stab the question: Music can be used to influence in a bad way no matter what the syle. ––Like when my son said that some of songs he listens to tempt him because they rap about smoking weed. And that is the devil doin his work through the music as I see and feel the damage in my family (very painful!) when he is regularly smoking. The other side is this: When a rock song makes your soul jam-out because its got a kickin guitar riff…that is a gift from God and the gift is good.

You see if your not a cynic then its easy to know what’s from God and what is not because all the gifts of God are good with out bad side effects.

Well, the Rolling Stones have Sympathy for the Devil, Van Halen is Running with the Devil, and AC/DC is on the Highway to Hell and ringing Hells Bells, meanwhile Led Zeppelin is buying a Stairway to Heaven.

If there is a God, I hope he's the kind of God that would like to Rock and Roll All Night and party every day!

If someone says what they produce is 'from God'..... does that not mean they are professing to be God? Kiss, Meatloaf, Elvis, all the rock stars and their writers are the ones I get my music from....who they profess to get their gifts from is between them and their Goddess!

Who's right? The answer above me. I'll restate it, with brief explanation:
There is NO SUCH THING in the Bible as a Satanic chord of Music, all the music is OK, depends on your personal taste. KISS is OK, and so is Lawrence Welk.

Where "the Devil's music" comes in is the lyrics. Anyone who thinks otherwise doesn't listen, or is brain dead.

Where did Kiss say that God Gave Rock and Roll to You? Is that one of their songs?

everyone's right.
this is a retarded debate.
I'm a christian who listens to classic rock, not all the time, but somewhat regularly. there's some music that really isn't good for you when you are in a vulnerable state. music DOES influence you.
if you know you're in a vulnerable state you probably should change the station or the CD and have something influence you that is better for your mind & your heart...switch it over to jazz or christian.
everybody has an opinion & everyone thinks they're right. you know what's best for you, so do what's best for you..period.

I once saw Paul Stanley on Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher. He just sat there like a lump for the whole show because he couldn't think of anything to contribute to the conversation. What an airhead.

Well, I like Kiss, and I still love God. I also like Metallica, Black Sabbath, Led Zepplin and many others, but I still love God.

I enjoy good music. I just like to listen. But I still love God!!!
