Apple Cake With Cake Mix

You can make a great apple butter cake by just mixing the cake mix the way it says on the box then putting very thinly sliced apples on top. Cover the cake mix(uncooked) and the apples with about a half of a cup of melted butter. The cake will come out very soft and moist. My ten year old did this one day when he was five and was trying out new things in the kitchen. I didn't think it would turn out well but it did...in fact it was very good. We later found out you can do it with cherries too. Just make sure the apples are very thinly sliced. I'm sorry it won't use up all your apples but it is good.

try this, cut the apples into slices, put on a baking sheet, sprinkle with sugar and cinnimon, then in a bowl mix up 1 cup of flour, a 1/4 cup of sugar and 4 table spoons of melted butter, mix all together and pour over the apples, bake for about 40 minutes at 350 till top is crispy dont use the yellow cake mix. unless you are using it to make a pineapple upside down cake

Apple cake can be great or a disaster so be careful. If you plan to add raw apples to a box of cake mix and bake as the package directs you could end up wasting it all. I would cook the apples first in a saucepan to soften them up. Maybe sweeten them with a bit of sugar and cinnimon before adding them to the cake mix.

peel 2 or 3 apples then cut into cubes and cook them in 2 tbsp of butter* add a pinch of salt, cinnamon, vanilla extract and brown sugar once you apples are kind of soft and all is caramelized let it cool on the side while you prepare the cake mix, once the mix ready butter the pan add the apples to the bottom and then pour the cake mix on top bake as directed on the box, might take a few minutes extra cause of the apples but, you'll have a killer apple up side down cake

yes yes yes! Just wait. I know of a recipe and I will find it!

Here it is. I used to sell for Pampered Chef!

Quick Apple Crisp
Ingredients:
5 Granny Smith apples
1 package (9 ounces) yellow cake mix
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
1/2 cup chopped nuts
Vanilla ice cream or thawed, frozen whipped topping (optional)

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Peel, core and slice apples using Apple Peeler/Corer/Slicer. Cut apples in half using Utility Knife. Place apples in Deep Dish Baker.

2. Combine cake mix, sugar, cinnamon, butter and nuts in Classic Batter Bowl. Mix until crumbly using Classic Scraper. Sprinkle mixture evenly over apples.

3. Bake 35-40 minutes or until apples are tender. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped topping, if desired.

I made this for all my parties and it was well received!

Slice the apples like for a cobbler or pie and place in a deep dish pan. Make the cake mix up and pour it over the top of the apples for a "crust". bake in a hot oven about 400 degrees until the cake part is browned. Serve warm with ice cream.

Try this. Peel the apples first and shred them on a cheese grated and make the cake mix according to directions.
Or peel and dice the apples and then fry them in some butter and Cinnamon until soft, cool and then add them to the mix.
