Heres my simple question. I am a god believer but I don't call my self christian or catholic or whatever. See one thing I don't like about religions is that they add a whole bunch of things like to go do a communion and coffessions. God didn't say go tell your problems to a priest! He didn't say you have to eat a piece of bread to be healed! He just said pick up your cross and follow me. Nothing more than a simple instruction! This world makes believing in God as if your a sinner that you can't believe in him or something! God did say to get baptized in water as John the Baptist did for Jesus did so. Read the bible and see what the truth is don't just go into a church and do what the priest does! Just get a relationship with God and thats it! None of that eat a bread stuff! Just repent! He sent his only son to die for our sins and it doesn't matter what you've done you just need to repent. God knows that we couldn't be perfect but all he wants is for us to get closer to him!!

He used it as an example though. As well considering I see people who exalt saints instead of exalting God. And here is what one of them said which is in Acts 10:25-26. [[As Peter entered the house. Cornelius met him and felt at his feet in reverence. But Peter made him get up. "Stand up," he said, I am only a man myself.]] Like one of the answerers said. Religions make unnecessary additions to the religions. This world makes additions as so did the Pharisees in the times of Christ. We don't need to touch a candle to be saved. I've seen on TV some religions who do that. As well make amulets that supposebly help you in love and money when it doesn't. God helps us if we believe. And if you believe that isn't true because you are having troubles then take the story of Job for example. A man who lost everything but still worshiped God and was rewarded with the more than what he had.

Wow, I think you have some huge misconceptions there. Where is it said that if you take communion you are healed? That is done in remembrance of Christ sacrifice.

Church has nothing to do with a relationship with Christ. However, sometimes, embarking on your own path and deciding scriptural decisions that aren't what the bible says (aka JW"S, mormons) can also cause offshoots of christianity.

Knowing Gods word in your heart and accepting Christ will always keep you straight. If your not a christian, then makes me wonder if you really know Christ.

What's great about God is that we all have our free agency to choose. No, I don't believe that you have to go "confess". Where confusion sets in is over the "bread". Symbolism is all over in religion. It's a way that God can make things easy for us to understand. The bread signifies the body of Christ and that He died for our sins". Read about the last supper and how he broke bread and blessed it". It is a way for us to remember the great sacrifice he made for us because He knew we wouldn't be perfect and would need a pathway so that we could repent. Repent to a Priest? No. I believe to repent you need to: Right the wrong, ask God for forgiveness, ask forgiveness from those you've offended and never repeat the sin. God loves us so much that He gave us His only begotten son. I agree. We shouldn't go to church to feel bad, we should go to church to feel good about ourselves. You are so right. God is a loving being. Remember what you put into your faith is what you will get out of it. You mention baptism, there is one true religion that does have the authority and power to perform this sacred covenant. Pray and read your scriptures. Make your own mind up. We all need our own testimonies to develop the faith we need to find Him. Best wishes.

Salvation belongs to God, not to a man made institution. You are correct.

There is more. The Bible also teaches we are to have fellowship with one another and encourage each other.

There is the joy of fellowship, the strength of a company of sincere believers, the leadership and providence of the Holy Spirit with accompanying gifts and ministries.

To not investigate this would be kin to saying I chose only bread and water when a feast is available.

Once again, these elements are often lacking or very controlled in a modern church setting, never-the-less, they are very real and available to hungry children of Jesus Christ who thirst for more.

what you say is true but god need us to coffes. i knew people who where not free (as Godly speech) cause of pass sin .hinging things is not OK.when u allow God in to your home(heart) you say ''Lord you are welcome here and may wander here freely'' the Lord will say ''daughter i will clean u '',but you can't say ''sure Lord. just touch this closet or area of the home(heart).that is not letting god work freely.that sin that you don't won't confess is separating u from God.
if u don't confess YOU CAN'T BE FREE!have you not read in the bible where it says ''the truth shall set you free''?when GOD finds you then you will understand because ''those who are not of the spirit can not understand the spirit.go to a evangelic church and they should be able to answer you.i never gone to that where u confess because in the evangelic church we don't do that ,you tell who u fell can help you pray and be librerated. God bless!!!!!!!!have a nice day. i pray god directs you to HIS way.amen

I think organized religion creates unnecessary divisions. Too much is spent on the differences between the groups instead of the overall, good message that was intended. Instead of bringing people together and spreading peace, it divides us further and spreads anger towards others who don't think like we do.

i agree 100% and i am right there with you. that's what people don't understand, you have to know God and have a relationship.
Another thing, I don't go to church really because they don't teach the Word of God. It's always the same lesson when I go.

but He did say that
"take this all of you and eat it, this is my body"

He also said
"receive the holy spirit, whatever sins you forgive will be forgiven, whatever sins you retain will be retained" (He said this to the apostles, whose successors are priests)

God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him. There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The onme who fears is not made perfect in love. We love because he first loved us. If anyone says, "I love God," yet hates his brother, he is a liar.
