doubts and questions magically disappear? Does one then "feed their faith" by participating in repetative ritual rather than approaching it with logic?

I would like your thoughtful responses on this thoughful question.

:)

for everyone's benefit - because I'm sure I'm being misunderstood... I gleened this question from an answer to another question I posted this afternoon. The answerer asserted that believers do not use logic to determine if their faith is relevent (I disagree). The answerer stated that believers use their faith as an excuse to stop thinking about things. (I disagree).

thank you again for your thoughts.

Of course not! I still have doubts, all the time! It's just that no one can be 100% certain of anything, so we have to continue to read, research, and THINK about it.

I've been a Christian now for nine months (almost to the day), and I DO still have doubts. But I think that's part of having faith.

If you think you know it all, you're a fool for sure; real survivors learn wisdom from others.

Colossians 2:2-4 says, "I want you woven into a tapestry of love, in touch with everything there is to know of God. Then you will have minds confident and at rest, focused on Christ, God's great mystery. All the richest treasures of wisdom and knowledge are embedded in that mystery and nowhere else. And we've been shown the mystery! I'm telling you this because I don't want anyone leading you off on some wild-goose chase, after other so-called mysteries, or "the Secret."

Faith--whatever that means to you, whether religious, intellectual, or personalized--is meant to be a tool to help cope with life. This life is full of doubts and questions, so faith, if it is to be effective, must address these things, and grow and change along with the individual. Everyone has their questions and their doubts. Faith is a component of this, in that we should aspire to grow from our doubts and questions about our existence. Faith is useful as an action to take in these matters.

no. actually I feel belief brings on more questions and doubts (at times). I don't do repetative rituals unless I feel the need to, not because it's the thing to do. And as far as logic, well that's a whole 'nother talk show.....good question by the way! star for you!

I delved into my doubts and actually became stronger in my faith with the answers I have found.

God doesn't want us to not ask, majority of the answers are there, you just have to want to know for your own faith and not to whomp someone with intelligence :)

(((Ramjet))) How are you doing?---I believe that Faith is a pure gift and the amount of Faith you have is due to the fact that you have actually unwrapped your gift and discovered what it is and you are Thankful for it and God himself does the rest. He in the interior, mentors you

Not at all! My faith leads me to ask HOW Goddidit, WHY Goddidit, and What was God THINKING when He didit.

St Paul specifically tells us that repetitive prayer is useless. Apparently, it was popular with the pagans of the time.

I believe we all will have doubts but the only way for me is to read his Word and Pray. Repetative ritual bring nothing to me! Calling upon his name and waiting for him is my only key?
