But they don't just come for jobs. They also come for the capital. When these immigrants arrive they don't just sell their labor, many start small businesses in the food, construction, maintenance and landscaping trades. When those businesses are launched, illegal Mexican immigrants hire other illegal Mexican immigrants. A great deal of Mexico's job creation takes place inside the U.S.

No, I don't agree with that statement! The drug mules are fit and fine for making money and the coyotes, big bucks! I believe that a great deal of them are just rabble rousers to cause trouble here and then there are the hungry for American freebies group! I just think that the only ones who are serious in being an American are those who do it legally! They are welcome!

yeah, they show their ambition and drive alright. Because none of them have the balls to do anything about their corrupt, **** hole of a country.

dinosaur: yes, the illegal Mexicans don't usually beg money, they "STEAL" from our public resources!!! They get fake IDs and social security numbers so they have it made for as long as they are not caught!! and that, is WAY ambitious than some silly pan-handlers outside of central park.
And please, don't be ridiculous about this"America would be nothing without the Mexicans" nonsense. The U.S was a much nicer, much cleaner place before this huge influx of illegal Mexican aliens. Don't forget that the reason they came in the first place was not that so they could "BUILD" this country from ashes. The big corporations wanted to use them not because they deliver stellar performances, it's because they are the "CHEAPEST". And quite honestly, the U.S. would have been much much better of a place environmentally without all these absolutely un-necessary mowing, spraying, "landscaping", over fertilizing,.bleaching, toxic dumping

I agree that the rich American investors are all for keeping Mexico's economy weak in order to suit their own financial interests, which helps not only by preserving low-wage labor in Mexico for American companies, but also provides a steady influx of desperate Mexicans into the USA who will work for very low wages here. Why would any rich investor or large company stop illegal immigration? And since rich investors and large companies control the government, that explains the lack of proper border protection. Screw middle class America - the middle class is bad for the rich!

That's a concise observation. One can see how immigrants that come from countries with so many jobs in the informal sector are able to adapt quickly to a free-market and capitalist system. They are entrepreneurial.

If you take a bit of time to look around, you'll see small businesses owned by immigrants (not just Mexicans) everywhere. This is because they come with a strong work ethic, not a feeling of entitlement.

Persons of all races with drive, ambition, and a willingness to take risks break laws every day. They become pimps, drug dealers, extortionists - even Congressmen.

But, yes, as much as Mexico enjoys the remitances recieved from Mexicans working abroad, thier economy would probably benefit even more if those same people were allowed similar opportunities in thier homeland.

I think that this is a free country and in the past immigrants came here to make this a big nation. Many years passed and people forgets our history. In these times there still racism in the United States and the rest of the world is watching our behavior. We americans, instead of criticize and put hate in our words against other's people nationality, needs to start thinking that for some illegals is not easy to get legal paperwork to come to this country because they don't have the money to pay for it. In every country there are good and bad people and there are also americans who are doing bad things in other countries. Yes, there are americans who are also murderers, thiefs, etc. We need to open our eyes and stop believing that we are the best people in the world when we are abusing people in need just to make money for this nation. Being a good american does not means that we are blind to these abusive siuations and remember, the world is watching us.

How hardworking, ambition or driven the illegals are begs the question. The real question is who decides the immigration policy of this country, the illegals or the USA citizens who have the right to decide who comes and why, for our needs and wants, not the illegals no matter how driven or hardworking they are

Well, if I were in Mexico, I'd be working to become part of the small but growing middle class. If I couldn't do that, I'd probably try to get to the US as well. Doesn't mean it's right, or that as an American I should throw open the borders, though.

That is what happens very often. I think that is why we need to give the decent, hard working individuals that can make our country a better place, the chance to do so. I agree with a system that would "kick out" the criminals...... There are many good people that start great businesses and contribute to our community.

* In my community, there is a doctor (in Mexico) and, a professional soccer player from a Latino league (who both work in a factory now) If they were legal, their skills could do something to benefit our country-well, atleast the doctor. LOL
