MM (Merry Meet )Hi, by now you should know that pagan is an overall term for non-christian. There are a lot of spiritual paths that fall under paganism. Wicca is one of them. Wicca honors the Goddess and God, the four elements, the seasons and moon phases, the Divine within as yes, it uses magick. Like others said, you don't have to, but many do. It's an earth connection to the Divine. You can learn more about it and other pagan paths at www.witchvox.com go to the bottom of the page and click on Pagan/Heathen Basics.

“Pagan” can mean several things. One definition is anyone who does not participate in any of the big 3 monotheistic religions. In ancient Rome it meant the people who lived in the country.
Pagan also means someone who participates in a pagan religion or tradition or concept (as well as we can understand it in today’s world and as practically as possible), which can be based on anything from Norse to Egyptian to Celtic to Wicca today. There are many, many variations on this. It’s a very individualized spiritual path.
Pagans may worship one god, a goddess, both, many, or none at all. Pagans tend to have a reverence for nature and a moral code that is not overly administrative but does forbid harming others. Witchcraft may or may not be involved.
Wicca is one of the more specific paths. While not overly strict, Wiccans tend to believe in a god and goddess, and have a specific rede that says 'Do as you will, an it harm none' and that what harm you cause comes back to you 3fold.
I'm just a pagan so I won't go into detail on that, but you may want to check out www.witchvox.com if you want to talk to wiccans.

I practice Wicca and I also consider myself Pagan -- although some other Wiccans would not agree.
What are your reasons for wanting to become Wiccan? If I know more, perhaps I can help you better.
Blessed Be!

paganism is any polytheistic or pantheistic religion.
Wicca is a pagan religion, but only one of dozens.
Wicca does not require the use of magic, althought many Wiccans do practice magic.
The importance of elements, phases of the moon etc. relates directly to which pagan path you choose to follow--some don't consider them important, other think they are crucial.

Umm... Pagan is any religion that is not one of the Abrahamic religions (Christianity, Islam, Judaism). Therefore you just described litterally hundreds of other religions. What precisely do you mean?
