I feel him the most in friendship. He appears there for me all the time, telling me what to say to hurting friends. It's awesome!

I feel closest to God when I lift His people in His presence and share His presence with His people. A close second is I think I feel closest to God in the early morning. I get up around 5 AM, get my coffee, stumble around in the early part of my day in the quiet part of the morning. Paradoxically I feel farthest from God when He's closest to me (St. John of the Cross calls this the dark night of the soul). I don't know that I'm ever entirely disconnected, although there have been times I've almost cut myself off to my shame. His mercy and forgiveness are great.

I'm fairly certain there is some type of phenomena occurring when people say they can feel God's presence. I believe it is something that can be physically examined, analyzed and understood. I'm afraid doing so could destroy the effects of this phenomena because it requires "blind faith" to work and that would vanish once the phenomena is understood. But it could also prove that God is not the reason for the perceived experience.

It is you doing those awesome things, you're too humble to take the credit, even in your own mind.
It's being good that gives you that feeling. They say God is love, actually love is love, no need for a middle man.

With me it has to do with light more than feeling. Yes, the heart expands but it is mostly the unbounded light.
