had all my wisdom teeth pulled 2 weeks ago, my question is when will those holes be filled in with gums? i went to my surgeon today and he said give it another week, im skeptical because alot of people here say it takes SIX MONTHS.... i should add that mine were an easy pull they were NOT impacted he didnt have to cut any thing he just yanked em out... reason i ask is i want to wait until the holes completley heal and are replaced by gum so i can start smoking again.....

THE "HOLES" WON'T BE FULLY CLOSED FOR SEVERAL MONTHS.
WHY?
WHAT'S UNDER THE GUMS?
BONE.
IT TAKES TIME FOR THE BONE TO GROW BACK TO THE EQUAL LEVEL AS THE OTHER TEETH.
IF YOU CHOOSE SMOKE IT'S SAFE FOR NOT CAUSING YOU A DRY SOCKET NOW.
SMOKING CAN CAUSE LUNG, ORAL OR THROAT CANCER HOWEVER. AS COMPARED TO DRY SOCKET THIS DIAGNOSIS IS HORRIBLE!

I had one of mine pulled and it didn't take 6 month to fill in. It was more like a couple of weeks.
Btw I curbed my smoking the first week, but I did smoke. Just gargled with saltwater often and had no problems.
If you managed to not smoke for a while maybe it's a sign to stop. Wish I could.

I recently had all of mine removed, and it only took me about 3 weeks for the holes to heal up. Mine weren't easily removed either, all of my wisdom teeth were still deeply rooted in my gums and had to be surgically removed. I guess it depends on how efficient your body is at healing.

Don't smoking in till Ur gums are completely healed.this could allow the nicotine to get in to the nerve and cause larger problems or even cause u to DIE.only smoke again when you get the ok from ur dentist. He should have sew it in the first place!good luck and don't smoked it makes ur teeth yellow ,gives u cavities, and causes bad breath.
