Would it be a good idea for the Israeli government to encourage Palestinian emigration to other nations by paying them to do so?

And those who wish to stay instead get Israeli citizenship.

Do you think this is a good idea or not?

InquisitiveMind-
How would it be expelling if they have the choice to take it or not? And like I said those who want to say should have every right to do so.

No, because the Palestinians will never be happy unless their rightful lands are given back. Thats just an extra way of expelling more palestinians.

Then would you feel comfortable if I said it would be like a bribe to get rid of more palestinians?
I mean it sounds like a good idea, but....
Palestinians will never be happy with a tiny bit of what was already theirs, and secondly Israel will NEVER give Palestinians back their basic human rights and dignity living under "their" roof.

I think there is already an unspoken financial encouragement to leave the country if you take into consideration the work conditions that exist in Palestine. They could easily leave and reap the rewards of freedom in the workforce of other nations. The point is that most of them will not leave. You see, it is not money they want, it is the homeland of their ancestors they are yearning for. For this reason, their determination to struggle and survive, they would never accept such an offer. Many Palestinian Arabs already have Israeli citizenship. They do not benefit much from it other than less travel restrictions within Israel. They are still considered 2nd class citizens by the Israeli government. Sure, there are a few token Arab members of the Knesset, but they have no power. What they need is a Palestinian state where Israel keeps it's nose out of their lives.

Wow... I wish I could ask a similar question without causing an uproar... lets see just to see how it sounds.

Will it be a good idea for arabs to pay the Israeli Jews to encourage them to leave Palestine to other nations who are willing to repatriate them (this part is not really required since most Israeli Jews come from some where else and have double nationalities). And those who wish to stay can get Palestinian citizenship?

Wow sounds great... how I wish things were that simple.

To Answer your question:

First a homeland can not be bought or sold...
Second You are contradicting yourself when you say you want to get rid of Arabs for some racial reasons... and then say give them Israeli citizenship...
Third Israel will never grant Israeli citizenship to more Arabs, since it fears the demographic balance will shift in favour of those and ultimately disrupt the Jewish racial supremacy.

Edit to paperback:
Even if the Palestinian Arabs left by their own free will (which is not the case by the way) why weren't their ownership private properties respected, where on earth do you have laws that states that if a person leaves his property for more than 6 months, his property is confiscated. By the way this law exists and is aimed against Arabs only (ie racist law)
If Israeli Arabs are treated equally shouldn't they be in control of 25% of leadership positions in Israel. a percentage more representative to their total numbers?

Edit to the kind hearted "londonminx": Are you really serious asking the Arabs to clean up the mess Israel caused by occupying the lands of others. I think Israel should do it as part of accepting the responsiblity of their own doing. Israel occupied the land, confiscated homes, drove Palestinians out and is discriminating against those who were left behind.
So Israel should consequently allow those people either to go back to their properties or compensate them for their losses... or did Israel just get used to breaking things and asking others to pay the bill (like US aid to Israel)... very childish and spoilt behaviour you know... shouldn't be doing that.

i think of of there is already an unspoken financial encouragement to bypass away the country in case you communicate the paintings circumstances that exist in Palestine. they might definitely bypass away and attain the rewards of freedom indoors the paintings stress of selection countries. the element is that optimum of them won't bypass away. you spot, it extremely is not any longer money they %., that's the area of beginning of their ancestors they're craving for. hence, their decision to conflict and stay to tell the story, they does no longer in any appreciate settle for such an grant. Many Palestinian Arabs have already have been given Israeli citizenship. they do no longer earnings plenty from it different than much less return and forth regulations indoors Israel. they're in spite of the shown fact that seen 2nd type electorate with the aid of using the Israeli government. helpful, there are some token Arab persons of the Knesset, yet they have not have been given any ability. What they like is a Palestinian state the area Israel keeps that's nostril out of their lives.

Before and in 1948 Zionists simply murdered or chased out(usually asking for bribes from wealthier Arabs-like my grandparents, for their lives), stealing the homes and properties of Palestinians.

BTW, someone said something to the affect that there was no Palestinian. Well, there was no Israeli either. Both, are relatively new terms by which we understand the identity of what they mean. However my mother and aunt had on their birth certificates - born in Jerusalem, Palestine Protectorate.

Palestinians that managed to stay in Israel, do not live equal to Israeli Jews. That is a fact of life. There are apartheid roads and neighborhoods. More government money is assigned to Jewish towns than to Arab towns. Related to this, is a recent British documentary followed the anguishing, years-long legal struggle of a Christian-Arab Israeli who tried to buy land and build a home in a Jewish neighborhood. The racist remarks made by his would-be Jewish neighbors were chilling! It was akin to remarks nazi-germans made about Jews in the 1930s!

Furthermore, Israel is, for the most part, a welfare state. We American taxpayers, support it - literally, with our money. So Israel cannot buy off, in effect, a nation. At best they give money and housing incentives to newly immigrated rightwing zionist settlers to go into occupied territories with rifles to shoot at Palestinians) .

America alone gives well over 4 billion a year, in just basic aid; most of the military and black ops aid is left out of our government reports. The 4 bil. is considered a conservative estimate. When American citizens apply for information under our 'Freedom of Information Act', the reports on Israeli monetary aid come back with huge blacked-out areas. Israel wags America's tail.

Palestinians should not have to leave the land they have lived on for several centuries and probably millenia. After all, some Palestinians still carry on the ancient tradition of speaking Aramaic(in the home), along with Arabic. Aramaic was the language Jesus(Yeshua) of Nazareth spoke.

And way back then, we were the people who believed in Jesus, when most Jews followed their rabbis who hated Him, denied Him, reviled Him and cheered his death on the Cross.

And Muslims respect and revere Jesus (and his Mother), as a Prophet. On the other hand, look to the Jewish Talmud to read what learned rabbis down through the ages, have to say about Jesus and His Mother. It's horrible!

No - it would not a good idea to do that. Beside since the 19th century Jews like the Rothchilds have been buying up Arab lands to establish the Jewish state. Palestinians have a right to their land on the West Bank and Gaza strip and if they could get their act together establish a nation state their for themselves. Sadly they have never been able to make a go of it.

Good Luck!!!

There really is no where the Palestinians to go. Its so interesting when you consider that this Palestinian issue has been on the table since 1948 and none of the Arab countries that say they support the Palestinians have ever given a proposal to give them citizenship in an Arab country so they would have homes, social services, rights. Its in the Arab worlds benefit to keep the Palestinians without a home so they can demand help from the UN and other bodies and keep the Israeli issue on the table longer to beef up anti-semitism around the world.

Palestinians could already have that, there are wealthy Jews willing to pay handsomely for Palestinian land (privately that is).

The thing is, they don't want your money.

Most wouldn't sell their land for millions, so what makes you think your idea would be any different.

Why do you think they should be Israeli citizens or get a pay off and leave?

Because you want to forget that they ever existed?

guess it hasn't been as easy as you Jews would have hoped.

You have the power and the money, why can't you just leave the Palestinians in their own state, and move somewhere else!!??

No, because they wouldn't want it. The Palestinians want a Palestinian nation--they don't want Israeli citizenship, or a lot more of them would be citizens. They also don't want to live in another "nation"--just look at Jordan. It's already more than 80% Palestinian, but they still want a Palestinian state. The only solution in their view is for Israel not to exist; to suggest this just gives them more ammo to say "hah! Israel IS an apartheid state, they don't want us!" which isn't true, but they would twist and say anyways.

So while in theory it's a good idea that might help bring a little peace, logically and politically, it would not work.

Gypsy_cat : oh, shame on you! If you'd bothered to learn a TINY bit of history, you'd of course know that the 'indigenous' people are the Jews. The term 'Palestinian' originally referred to Jews, because we are the people who have been living there for CLOSE ON FOUR THOUSAND YEARS.

Until 1969, there existed no separate, distinct, Muslim 'Palestinian people' - they referred to themselves and were described by others simply as Arabs.

And of course 1969 is some two decades AFTER Israel was established.

As for your insulting 'zionist money' remark; you show your true colours. The asker has posed a serious question - I may not agree with the idea but that doesn't mean I would insult him. What a pity you don't show the same maturity, intelligence and decency as other people who have managed to disagree while remaining polite.

As for the actual question: I don't agree, though I understand why you ask this. I really think the only answer is a separate Palestinian state. The Palestinians have been treated dreadfully, albeit by their fellow Muslims in the Arab countries, and not by Israel. Israel gives them free fuel, water, electricity; she opens schools and hospitals and universities for them. Israel built them brand new housing.

The Palestinians tore that brand new housing down.

For peace to exist, two things must happen, I believe:

1) The Palestinians must reject terrorism
2) There must be a separate Palestinian state alongside Israel.

EDIT: M.I. Kindly cite any evidence for this 'zionist ethnic cleansing' you refer to.

It never happened. The number of Palestinians is steadily and fairly rapidly increasing; this doesn't happen in mass extermination or ethnic cleansing.

If you knew your facts, then you would know that the Palestinians were ordered to leave their homes by their fellow Arabs in neighbouring states, because those states knew they were about to declare war on Israel - and they did this within 12 hours of the jewish state declaring independence.

The Palestinians who remained, kept their homes and are citizens with the SAME rights and opportunities as the Jews. I know this is true, because I've lived in Israel and I met some of them!

You should not throw around such horrible and misleading rubbish, since you clearly don't know any of the facts. Historical, objective, verifiable facts.
