I always hit the gas and get over them as quickly as possible.
if there is a red light near the track never stop on the track and never try to beat the lites.
I found following these rules works alot better than luck

i have never heard of crossing your fingers, but i have heard of lifting your feet from the ground if your in a car. basically its for good luck.
