the best method with this problem is to prove them wrong - don't be whiney, but do your homework, get good grades, and do your chores without being asked.

after a month or so, bring the subject up again, so if they say it is because you're not responsible you have examples of being just fine about it.

Yes, all these people have the right idea. Show some responsibility. Do your chores on time, without being asked, and do them right the first time. I might ask why they consider you irresponsible?

Being considered a responsible person doesn't happen in just a few days, or even weeks. It takes time and time again of being respectful, considerate of others, sacrificing your own time to do things for other people, not being selfish, and much more. It's not just something we do in order to get something we want. It's a lifestyle that we choose because we WANT to do it, and because it's the right thing to do. I suggest you see the movie Pay It Forward. It has a good message in it.

I'm not saying it'll be easy, and it won't happen overnight, as I said. This could be a big change in the early part of your life.
I wish you well!

Show them you are not. Do your chores, come back from activities on time, act grown up and just listen. Do lots of reaserch on hamsters and show your parents how you are dedicated to your cause. Give them interesting facts and ask them to ask you anything about hamsters and wow them with your knowledge. Assure them you will pay for the animal and things that go with it. Babysit a friend or family's pet so they can see how you cared for them.

Listen to your parents. They don't want to deal with a dead hamster that was neglected by an irresponsible child. Ask your parents how you can work on being responsible. Your parents are always right. Listen to your parents. They love you and are trying to protect you.

Show some responsibility. Maybe do some chores, or print off some papers showing you know about hamsters. Or try making a deal with them.

I understand what your asking. Why don't you take a few weeks and show them that you can be responsible in other ways. If you have chores, be sure to do them without having to be told to do them. Or just ask your parents how you can prove to them that you will take the very best care of your new hammy. If they still say no, be patient and keep showing them how responsible you can be. Trust me in time they will see, and may reconsider. Good luck.

A pet is a big responsibility. Show your pets you can be responsible and make sure that you REALLY want a pet, because a pet is forever, not just for the first couple weeks while its still a novelty.

Show them that you are a responsible young person,by cleaning your room, and making your bed daily, taking out the trash without being asked to. I loved my hamster that I had. He was my best little friend, and I even made a little wagon for him to pull around. It had a little yoke that he put his little head through, and he'd pull that wagon all around the room! Show your mom and dad, their wrong! Bye and by the way, my hamster lived for many years.
