To tell me my 18 yr old boyfriend ruined my relationship with her? I'm 16 and she tells me I'm too young for him...when I have friends my age who are dating 19 yr olds! He's really not that old. We both have the same personality and we laugh at the same stuff and we both give each other advice...like I give him advice about his parents divorcing (My parents divorced years ago) and he gives me advice about things he knows.
She also gets her boyfriend to tell me he's manipulating and controlling. And they always constantly ask me "What are you gonna do when he wants sex and you dont? Give in to him?" They make me dobt my relaionship...
I'm a virgin too. And I'm very religious and sex before marriage is against my religion. I'm more religious than my mom and her boyfriend. They don't go to church. Im the only one who does in my house b.c I go with my dad and sometimes my boyfriend. And he accepts my beliefs and he likes going to church too!
So...whats wrong here?

And my mom makes it seem like me wanting to go out with my friends or my boyfriend is a bad thing. Because I'd rather hang out with them then stay home!
Oh, and my BF and I have been dating for 6 months.

I can't move in with my dad. He lives twenty minutes away. I don't want to leave my friends behind. Plus, he lives in a basement apartment.

He hasn't asked for sex b.c before we dated, we were best friends. Always talking and always together. And he knew how much my virginity meant to me. My mom approved of him when he was my best friend.
She must just be afraid of loosing me.
And he's a very special guy. I've had longer relationships b4, I started dating young...when I was twelve. My longest relationship was a year. But before we got exclusive, I knew he loved me already. That's why I wish she wouldn't doubt him b.c I know he loves me with the way he treats me and the things he does for me.

i guess he is too old legally but if your mom was ok with it then it really wouldnt be a big deal. but since you live with her you have to do what she says or lie about it, those are your only choices.

Sara-Rose perhaps mom is remembering being your age and the feelings that accompany this age. I know it's hard to believe but she truly figures that she is making the right choices and trying to steer you in the right direction. You'll understand better when you become a parent. Fact of life is thought that you are going to continue seeing this young male whether your mother likes it or not, as you will sneak behind her back if necessary as majority of youth do. I know it must seem very unfair for your mother to be judging your relationship but trust me when I tell you that she is just trying to protect you from a broken heart and possibly losing this virginity that you so cherish. Best of luck in coming to a compromise with your mom.

Your mom is concerned about your relationship with a older man. Even if he is only 2 years older. At your age that seems like alot. In a few years that will be no big deal. Try to make her understand that you will be responsible and mature no matter who you are dating.
Good Luck

Maybe your mother feel neglected by you finding someone.
Regardless of how she feels she should not be bitter towards you or tell her little boyfriend to tell you things. He is not your father to attempt to give you some type of advice.
There is nothing wrong with you dating an 18yr old. If you are mature for your age and have morals & values (and it sounds like you do). You will not give into sex, and if he respects you, he will not attempt to force you against your will.
Keep going to church! I hope everything works out!

It's just her being a mom. I know its irrating but its just parenting. Just ignore the comments she makes and if that doesnt work I would simply just talk to her and tell her something like "Mom I know yours trying to watch out for me and your just trying to be a good parent but I need to be able to live my own life and if I'm happy with (your boyfriends name) then I would like if you could just be happy that I'm happy. I'm old enough to make my own decisions and use good judgement, so please try to be happy for me and if you cant atleast try not to make rude comments or remarks about my boyfriend or friends." I really hope that helps! Just stay strong and keep you faith! Good luck.

I think your mom shouldnt be worrying about your relationship becasue you do go to church and are religious. Now it doesnt really matter what your mom says because i mean your going to be with him anyway right?? So as long as you know that your not doing anything wrong then i see nothing wrong with your relationship. Just try to ignore your mom but dont disrespect her. Why dont you move in with your dad?

well it is your life and being 16 and him being 18 isn't a big age difference. that's only 2 years. some people like people 20 years older then themselves. well tell her that you really like him and that you want to be with him.try to convince her that he is good for you. good luck. i hope everything works out for you, i really do.
