You should teach the dog obedience commands before move on to teaching tricks. Basic commands that the dog should be reliable in are: sit, sit/stay, stay, down, lay, heel (both on and off leash), and a few others depending on your preference. I include: stop, leave it, quiet, wait. You learn to teach commands from attending a good obedience class. They will also teach you about dog behavior.

Sounds like you have a very smart dog - use her talents, teach her to fetch; take her favorite toy and toss it, and when she brings it back to you give her a small treat, after a few times she will be a pro at it.

Also, teach her to shake hands, very simple have her sit and lift her paw - place it in your hand and pet it and say good girl then give her a small treat, after a few times she'll have that whipped and ready for something else.

This is how I trained my Pom's and they not only love the attention, but the treats as well....

Good luck...
