Insulating your home not only protects against cold in the winter but protects against heat in the summer (think: ice chest). Properly insulating your house reduces the amount of energy needed to heat or cool it.

Insulation lowers your air conditioning bill.

Where do you think the heat the air conditioner has to remove comes from? A large part of it flows in from the outside through the walls. More insulation - less heat flows in, air conditioning bill goes down.

More insulation is a good idea which lowers your heating and air conditioning bills.

Lets be real. The globe is heating at about 1 degree every 100 years based on the average of temperatures all over the world. It has been warming for hundreds of years.
We still have winters and summers and little will change for many years, so we need to conserve energy to reduce CO2 and get off foreign oil. That means use as little energy as possible to heat and cool your home.

I wish all the Chicken Little's out there would stop scaring people. The world isn't going to change significantly rapidly. There is time and much more to learn. Many good people are working on it. For now, be reasonable and conserve where you can, but don't go crazy just yet.

Improving insulaation reduces heat loss in the winter--reducing the amount of energy needed to keep it warm. In the summer, insulation helps reduce the amount of heat getting into the house--therby also reducing the amount of enrgy needed to keep the house cool.

The point of insulation is that it reduces the rate/amount of heat either escaping from the youse when its cold outside or getting in when its hot outside. Just like a Thermos bottle--it will keep water cold or coffee hot.

The purpose of insulation is to create a barrier between the heat (or cold) outside and inside your house. In other words, in the winter it helps to keep the cold out and in the summer it helps to keep the heat out (and cold in).

Insulation tends to help make it so you don't have to use as much fuel to heat, and in the summer it helps keep the outside heat out. It's a win win situation.

Forget the insulation until winter time. Shut off the air conditioner and open the windows.

i think it is going to warm this icy stream thing and in the end turn us into the ice age. So instead of dieing because we are tohot we are going in to the next ice age.
For that you probably need really good insulation.
