For example, can lying down after eating causing digestive problems like diarhea? Would it be better or worse to be sitting, standing, walking, lying down, etc. after eating?

I saw a bunch of guys on tv experiment with that, and they said that digestion is quicker and with less chance of heartburn etc, if you eat while lying down. also, it was possible to eat way more if eating while reclining.

Thats why the romans ate while reclining apparently.

I don't think lying down affects digestion much at all, but if you hang upside down after eating, now THAT would do something... I don't know how much stronger peristalsis is than the pull of gravity. You'd be more likely to puke or have heartburn. I don't think your position has anything at all to do with diarhea. If you are having persistent diarrhea problems, get yourself checked out because my little brother who is 17 has had his entire colon removed. He developed Ulcerative Colitis. Probably alot more than you wanted to know, but hey... Have a nice day :P

I think some people have problems digesting if they lie down too soon after eating. I don't detect any difference myself, and will often take a nap soon after dinner so I can be up and playing with Answers late at night.

In fact, that's a good idea. Nighty night!
