What kind is the meanest Ford Mustang around today??? But it can't be vintage it has to be brand new. It has to be a 6 speed manual transmission.

arteyu is right on the money, there is nothing like the 2004 cobra. It is the only vehical under 60k that comes stock with a built engine with all of its internal parts forged that is capable of supporting 800-1000hp.
You cant buy a new car today for the same amount of money as the cobra that is faster in the 1/4 mile. It also is the only car that for 8k you can turn it into a 925hp car.

The 03/04 cobras are factory rated at 390hp and 390tq but it is well known in the racing world (even the chevy guys will admit it) that the cobras hp is very underrated from the factory. On a dyno the rearwheel hp and tq is usually around 370 which puts the flywheel hp and tq closer to 430. If you enter "2004 cobra wilkipedia" in the web search and go to the wilkipedia site for the 04 cobras it will explain this and the built engine of the cobra. I cant link it because for some reason when I paste the site on this answer, yahoo doesnt allow me to submit my answer. It says error 990, what ever that means. brand new? GT500 but my personal fav is the 2003-2004 cobras those cars are bad *** i want one i would trade my evo for one
gt500 has 500 crank rated hp but its a bit less then that and its heavy as a mother. The cobras however 390 stock and weigh a lot less so i would pick the 03-04 cobra
also stage 3 roushes and the 2000 saleen are both nice also

I believe that Carroll Shelby is making a few Super Snakes out in NV. They may be the quickest ones around. But you know what they say, there's always somebody faster.

I would say the Saleen it costs 50k to buy it, but it has around 450 horsepower.
