I've sorta liked this guy for awhile, but the more i get to know him the more i question if i really like him, or if i like the fact that he likes me. The problem is I really think i do like him..but i feel sometimes feel ashamed that somethings about him don't live up to the expectations i have in guys i date...for example 1.) I don't like smokers...he's a smoker 2.) I like guys care about learning new things about me...everytime i ask him something ex: his favorite color, he doesn't care to ask the same 3.) Outgoing guy...he's extremely shy and I don't know if i like that...idk what do you guys think? Am I being really childish or is this just going to hurt me in the future?

If you feel as though you're "settling for less", then there's something fishy going on in your mind right now. Inside, deep inside, you may not like him. Maybe you just want someone to be with right now, or you like the feeling of being in love (even though in reality, you're not). How about instead of dating him, get to know him more, or just be his friend for now. That way, you can clear up your feelings gradually, and in the end, you'll know what you really want, and you won't be questioning yourself (I know, it's a very bad feeling!). :)

well if he is shy then do something that will make him want to change that. do something like on the next date kiss him in public if u already do that then try doing it in a way he might get inverest then make it up to him but at the same time he might start to be confident.
other result: leave him and find someone that u know will be into u and wont be shy and have the defects that u hate so much.

Number one thing: Do you feel good when you're with him? If that's true then that other stuff is just looking for perfection. Perfection you will never find, love you most certainly can. Let the future take care of itself.

I think you're overanalyzing the situation, and reading too much into every comment/action. Just go with your gut - do you want to be with him or not? Don't make excuses or "if only"s... if your answer is anything other than a determined "Yes!", you're better off without him.

You like him because he likes you. If in your heart you don't feel the connection with him then don't lie to yourself and him. Let him down gently.

You have to accept him for who he is or move on. Trust your instincts, they are usually right.
