Crock pots are a great way to make a meal that you can have ready when you get home from school or work. They now offer some frozen dinners that you can put in a crockpot, which takes all the work out of prepping items. I haven't tried them, but you might want to. Here is a recipe I have used:

3-4 lb Pork Roast
1 container saurkraut
1 yellow onion, sliced into rings
1 Grannie Smith apple, cored and sliced
3 T brown sugar
Salt and pepper to taste

Season your roast with salt and pepper and sear in a hot skillet (opt.) Take sliced onion and place in bottom of crock pot and sit roast on it. Blend your saurkraut with the apple and brown sugar and pour over the roast. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours. Serve with mashed potatos or noodles and steamed carrots.

Just think of a crock pot as a large pot that simmers stuff.... YOu can make loads of things like stew, broth, gumbo, soups, even rice!

Here's a good soup recipe:

Chop up once cup each of your favorite veggies. Slice chicken or beef- 2 cups. Measure out 6 cups of water. 1/2 cup total of soy sauce and worstishire sauce. And three tablespoons each of your favorite recipe. Four pieces of garlic, chopped. Add all this to a crock pot. Simmer for two hours. Add 1/2 cup of water after the first hour. Enjoy!

Crock pot roast is spectacular! And specific, you will need some liquid - approximately 12 oz. for a 2 or 2.5 pound roast. Beer is superb, nonetheless pork broth could additionally be stable, and that i've got even used Dr Pepper effectively in the previous. incredibly positioned the carrots and onions on the backside of the pot, then the liquid, then the beef. in case you upload potatoes, positioned them in final - in case you place them on the backside, they're going to soak up too lots liquid and turn to mush. Carrots are harder; they are able to take it. And season the beef till now it is going in the pot. Even a packet of onion soup mixture is physically powerful for that.

pork (any kind) with sourkraut
chicken with bottle of bar b cue sauce or fav marinade
pork (any kind) with can of cream of mushroom soup
your favorite veggie soup ingredients

you can make the roast, cover with water, and when it is just about done shred, add cream of mushroom soup, gravy pack, and egg noodles cook until noodles are tender
all of these i cook on low all day (about 9 or 10) hours- not very fancy i know, but easy, cheap, and oh so good!
