If by planet X, you mean a populated planet the Sumarians called Nibiru, which comes close enough to Earth every few thousand years for it's inhabitants to visit us, but otherwise spends it's time out in the ne'er regions of the solar system where it's inhabitants survive by geothermal energy....
It doesn't exist.
I'll tell you why.
1. Nearly every ancient civilization on this planet watched the sky religiously (literally so in many cases) and would have noticed a giant planet coming by, so you'd expect to have more references to it.
2. If a large planet entered the inner solar system, or even approached it, it'd would completely disrupt the orbits of the other planets.
3. The environment on such a planet would change dramatically throughout it's voyage as it approaches and leaves the vicinity of the sun, meaning it wouldn't be stable enough for microscopic life, and thus wouldn't be stable enough for macroscopic life.
But, if you mean planet X as in a large planet that did enter our solar system in the past, or orbits in a very distant or ellipitcal orbit...it's possible. Here's why.
1. Our outer solar system is scattered with junk debris, and some peices can be fairly large. You wouldn't expect a super massive planet out there because unless it was very very very distant, we'd pick up on the gravitational tug of it, but a smaller planet, say around the size, or even slighty larger than Pluto, could go undetected. This has been the case with many objects.
2. Large objects have enter our solar system before, though in the very very distant past. It's thought that one of them, the size of Mars, collided with the Earth and helped to create the moon, and another one is thought to have knocked Uranus on it's side.
3. A fairly planet in a large, very elliptical orbit may enter the solar system every few tens of millions of years and could be lurking way out there in space, too far or too small to be detected. It's unlikely but it's a possability. The planet would not be habitable though.

It has always been a catalyst of change. Also, it is a catastrophic event. Egypt recorded its arrival (every 3600 years) and departure (900 years later) 4 times. It changes the rotation of the earth every time it arrives. The sun will once again rise in the west and set in the east. The Sumerians knew of this planet also and called it Nibiru and this is where the "gods" come from. Their planet tethers to ours for about 900 years with every circuit. The Babylonians called it Marduk. These names all mean planet of the crossing.
The elite of the world are well familiar with this planet and have offered millions$ to anyone that can come up with reliable deep space travel by 12-21-12. This is what caused the flood recorded in the bible.
The ancient writings record that its coming is a glorious time because the gods are with us again and all will be well. They also record the catastrophic effects of its arrival. Tsunamis, earthquakes of epic proportion, bad enough to sink continents. We're almost there again. Can't wait to see this.

Planet X is a large hypothetical planet with an orbit beyond that of Neptune.
The scientific basis of the Planet X hypothesis was broadly discounted in the early 1990s and today no significant portion of the scientific community believes it to exist.

It is the planet Niburu...it is called planet X because it appears to have a red X which most people will confuse with a cross and think that jesus is coming. The reported influence this planet will have near our planet could be devastating. You can find reference in the sumerian culture and mayan. The time will be 2012, the period of change for enlightenment. All I've got to say is hold on to your socks boys and girls!...it's gonna be one hellava ride if you survive..

Planet X replaced right into a popularity first coined for a hypothetical planet (think of of it because of the fact the astronomical resembling a variable in an algebraic equation, as astronomy as attempting to "remedy for x") previous Neptune which might account for obvious irregularities interior the orbits of Uranus and Neptune. the invention of Pluto replaced into one results of the seek for this planet, and for a together as, it replaced into thought that Pluto replaced into the lacking variable. different than, Pluto grew to become out to fall properly in need of X, mass-sensible. no count number, however. It grew to become out that the plain irregularities of the orbits of Neptune and Uranus have been observational errors. in view that then, the term has been trotted out countless situations for unconfirmed discoveries of super Kuiper Belt products, as a non everlasting placeholder till the planet in question is got here across. i'm unsure what you anticipate a Kuiper Belt merchandise to truly do to us. in case you had a carry close of in basic terms how massive the image voltaic device is, you will understand why this is a ludicrous thought. some persons confer with a Doomsday planet referred to as "Niburu" which isn't there the two (different than insofar as some texts recommend that Jupiter replaced into observed by using such names at incredibly some factors). this is rather a thought borrowed from what quantities to a technological understanding fiction novel, with countless the attributes replaced.
