We will all probably be wearing our personal Hepa masks within the next 20 years.
I would love to see wind farms dotting the high points of the landscape. To all those people who want to vote against it for esthetic reasons only, we could always disguise them as trees. In fact we could further make use of them by putting up nesting platforms for eagles and hawks on them.
Wouldn't it be a truly glorious thing if we managed to provide all our energy needs from the earth's non-polluting sources...wind, tidal water, and thermal heat capture to name just a few?

Because the reason for wind farms is to produce electricity. Any giant filter would reduce the strength of the wind thereby reducing the amount of electricity produced. What particulates are you wanting to filter?

No. The filters would slow down the wind too much. And there are all kinds of other reasons not to do that, such as it is easier and cheaper to put small filters on the smoke stacks putting out the particles instead of giant ones to filter all the air in the world.

why would you filter dirt out of the air? dirt or otherwise known as particulate matter will settle on its own and by doing so you don't further pollute the world with dirty filters.
now if they could get the filters higher and make them magnetic like the ones on TV and gather carbon monoxide that would be great.

It depends on how much money you are willing to pay for your electric bill.
