The word "purpose" presupposes a Creator. Evolution (DNA being part of evolution) cannot give purpose to our lives because evolution is a mindless natural process, like weather for example. Evolution can no more give purpose to us than a snowstorm can give purpose to a snowflake.
So if you're asking about real purpose, seek God for seeking God is our real purpose. If you just want some good feelings, e.g. self esteem, ask in the Psychology section how to get them.

The purpose of your life is its product - - your soul. Your soul is the sum product of your life. Everything you do affects your soul. Every word you speak has its affect. Every thought that enters your mind lives eternally.
The fabric of reality as understood through quantum mechanics tells us that quarks and atoms act randomly and it is consciousness that gives it order. Our conscious is creative, it forms our thoughts and our thoughts form who we are. And this energy is not destroyed through death but returns in its quantum state to other dimensions.
So be careful how you nuture your soul. Seek truth, practice love and relish everything in the world that has beauty.
