Being saved means, you have accepted Jesus as your Savior. By faith, you trusted in Him. It is by grace, through faith. When you asked Jesus to save you, He saved you from going to hell. You have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus.

"Saved" means that you have acknowledged that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. (Rom 3:23) and that God set forth Jesus to be the remission of our sins through his blood, and by faith you have heard the Word preached about the love that God has for us and how He sent Jesus to die in our place and raised Him from the dead and that we, too shall be raised when he returns. Upon believing this, and receiving this Word in your heart, you must confess it (say it aloud) and ask that Jesus come into your heart. It is within that instant that the old person you are is no more - and the new person (inner man) is now ruling you. This new man has no sin and is blameless. The next act is to be Baptized because if we follow Christ's teachings, He was baptized by John the Baptist - however, it is only an outward sign that an inward change has taken place - if there is no water - God is not going to cast you out because of it. Afterwards, the prayer of faith and receiving God is prayed and it's no more than giving thanks to God for drawing the spirit inside himself to the spirit inside you to make you the person he would have you be and to fulfill his will in your life. You are no longer walking your own way and looking back in your past - but moving forward and speaking and believing the things of God. Sometimes it means you have to separate from friends who are not aware and do not want to change - otherwise you can be drawn back into the world and do worldly things that are not of God. His commission to you then is to go forth and tell someone else about the change he made in your life and show others the love he showed you.
Finally, you should devote yourself to a church home that is teaching you the Word so you can grow and develop your faith and be strong. New believers start out on milk - just like a baby and grow until they can eat meat. (spiritual meat)

Man has sin (Things that seperate us from a perfect God, examples are: stealing cheating lieing etc...)
In order to go to heven and have a eternal life with our creator we need to also be perfect. We can't be perfect. No one is perfect even christians. And the penalty of sin is death.
Romans 6:23
But something wonderful happened. God loved us so much He sent His only son (Jesus) to die in our place a perfect "man" who never commited any sin becuase He was God in flesh suffered and died so we didn't have to. All He required from us to accept this.
God gave us His son as a gift and like any gift you never get to use it or learn what it is until you take it and open it. Hence Christians (or people who have accepted the free gift) are saved by Jesus.

To a christian, being "saved" is being saved from sin. They believe that Jesus died to take away all the sins of his people... Like people who disobey the ten commandments. They believe that even murderers, thieves, liars, etc. are "saved" from their sins once they believe that Jesus lived and died for them. Hope it helps.

It means everything in you is wrong from the moment you are created. You are concieved in sin and carry the original sin just because, so you are doomed and condemned unless you bow your head and write many checks.
