In the unlikely event Jesus returns he'll have a lot of bones to pick with a lot of folk who called themselves Christians, including Paul.

They are the SAME! There is NO CONFLICT between Paul's teaching and Jesus' own prophecies of the coming kingdom.

Notice that Jesus PREDICTED THE END OF THE LAW!

... Jesus said he didn’t come to destroy the law, but to fulfill it. (Matt 5:17) The effect was the same. Once fulfilled it was no longer in effect.

The very next verse, Matthew 5:18, LOOKS FORWARD to the time when the law WOULD BE SET ASIDE. "...Not even the smallest stroke of a pen will disappear from the Law UNTIL EVERYTHING IS COMPLETED." This “UNTIL” clause REINFORCES THE TEMPORARY NATURE OF THE LAW. It ONLY makes sense when we understand that it was intended FROM THE BEGINNING to be SET ASIDE.

Paul wrote after the fact, teaching the same message, that, through Jesus' sacrifice, we have been SET FREE from the law.

Ephesians 2:15 Through his body on the cross, Christ put an END to the LAW WITH ALL ITS COMMANDS AND RULES. He wanted to create one new group of people out of the two. He wanted to make peace between them.

Colossians 2:14 He wiped out the written Law with its rules. The Law was against us. It opposed us. He took it away and nailed it to the cross...16 ...No one can be made right with God by obeying the law... 21 ...What if a person could become right with God by obeying the law? Then Christ died for nothing!
=====================
Lots of people misinterpret the teachings of Paul, mostly because they begin with a misinterpretation of Jesus' own teaching and ministry. First, there were NO CHRISTIANS DURING THE EARTHLY LIFE OF JESUS. He makes this clear in his teaching about the KINGDOM:

Matthew 11:11 “What I’m about to tell you is true. No one more important than John the Baptist has ever been born. But the least important person in the kingdom of heaven is more important than he is.

Jesus tells us in Mark 9:1 that the kingdom was not present yet, but would be in the lifetime of some of those following him… “Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see that the kingdom of God has come with power.”

Jesus was sent EXCLUSIVELY to JEWS living UNDER THE LAW. We see this in Matthew 15:24 … “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.”

Peter writes of Paul's message, "Bear in mind that our Lord’s patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him. He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction. (2Peter 3:15-16) Clearly, then, the DISTORTED VIEW portrayed in the “Gospel Enigma” of Paul’s teaching WAS NOT SHARED PETER, and likely by the others who, being INSPIRED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT, accepted his message.

He'll be pleased with those didn't spend their lives debating Biblical trivia on the web but rather got out and made a positive difference in the world by helping others.

God is the author of the Pauline Gospel. Jesus is God. I don't think they differ at all if you know what you are reading.

I think he'll be pleased with whoever believes he was the son of God and believes in him and what he did for us, no matter what gospel they believe in.

1Paul, an apostle—sent not from men nor by man, but by Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him from the dead— 2and all the brothers with me,
To the chuches in Galatia:

3Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, 4who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, 5to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
6I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— 7which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! 9As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned!
10Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ.

Galatians 1:1-10

Paul's Gospel was approved by the apostles at Jerusalem (Acts chapter 15) and endorsed by Peter himself:

14So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him. 15Bear in mind that our Lord's patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him. 16He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction.

II Peter 3:14-16

He that opposes the Apostle opposes Him that sent him according to Jesus' own words.
