Any volumizing shampoo helps! It's not foolish there are tons of merchandise, also try thickening mousse that helps a lot but it surely goes in when the hair is damp after the bathe

Best - Pantene "Fuller Hair" Shampoo and Conditioner
Good - Nexxus Moisturizing Shampoo ( it thickens)
Another Good Product - Vibe Thickening Shampoo.

I have straight, fine hair, too. Here are several products that I swear by:
Aveda confixor styling gel
Aveda flax seed styling gel (more hold than confixor)
Suave volumizing shampoo
Bumble and Bumble thickening shampoo
Neutrogena shampoo
Also, you may try speaking with your stylist about this. He/she can recommend not only products, but a certain cut that may enhance your hair's volume.

Nothing will "thicken" hair, but some things can coat your hair and make it feel thicker. Try a pomade or a wax
