No, if us (tattooed) are willing to cover them up for work then why would it be a problem? Placement is the key, unless you are going into a very artistically open field forearms, hands, neck, so forth probably aren't your best bet. But that leaves legs, shoulders, back, so many areas that can still be tattooed and covered when necessary. Mine is on my ankle and it's on the back side. At an interview the lady asked if I have any tattoos because of my visible piercings (mainly my Industrial) and when I said yes she was surprised because it's actually really hard to see without looking for it. And I can still cover it with my pants and socks. Just think ahead about where and what you might have to do to cover it and there shouldn't be any problems getting a good job. Look professional for the professional setting.

I made the decision when I chose to get tattoos that were visible with most clothing (neck and lower arm) that I was ok with not getting a job in a place that required 'no tattoos'. I feel strongly enough about my body art that I do not wish to work for an individual or company that finds them offensive or something to be hidden. I am not flagrant about my tats, I do not wear revealing clothing just to showcase them, but I want to be able to show them in a short sleeved shirt, or a v-necked shirt.
So, no, my tattoos have not blocked me from jobs, as if they do, i do not wish to do that particular job. Life is way too short and a one-time deal for me to do something that so comprimises my selse of self.

Not hard at all for me, I work for a major corporation and they don't have a tolerance for tattoos showing. So I just have to make sure there covered up, its not hard. That just goes into good planning when you get one, you should always think about stuff like that. Mine are on the back of my neck ( the one I have to be super careful about), shoulder blade, and lower back ( i just had this one put down low enough that my pants are covered by it.) You just don't wanna go into an interview specifically showing them or anything or in any way let them know you have them, cause unfortunately people can sometimes judge you for it.

Not at all, I have found that tattoos are becoming more acceptable as an artform.
I can imagine if you have something offensive or exceptionally gruesome it may cause problems but I have had tattoos for 18 years and never had a problem finding work.
Its only my personal experience and I am sure there are others who have faced prejudice, but I have to say that I haven't.

In places I've worked before it just hasn't been a worry; I've had plenty of inked & pierced co-workers over the years. I've been involved with the computer industry for a while and they care more what's in my head & how much I can do, rather than how I look.
Nowadays I'm working as a programmer & sysadmin at a fairly lefty university, it's even less of a concern. I admit I don't advertise it, but I'm quite certain, having read the hiring practices & laws about how the University of California does it's business, that I'm fine.

Nope, I worked as a nurse and was able to cover the one on my left wrist up with a watch band I wore everyday. But many of the girls I worked with had tattoos that were visible or had their tongues pierced and they still had jobs as nurses. As long as you did a great job and cared for patients well, boss didn't mind.

No, fortunately in my country they don't undress people before they give them a job. As long as tattoos are covered (mainly when having to deal with customers), no problems here.
My boss knows I have a tattoo. My boss also knows I wouldn't do a better job if I didn't have it.

all of my tattoos are covered by my clothing while at work BUT when i got my feet tattooed i had to go shoeless for two weeks and my employer didn't mind at all.
i work at a hospital and work with quite a few guys who have tattoos on their forearms AND a couple with tattoos on the sides of their necks.
it really depends on where you work and policies made by the company.

Depends who you apply for. Some places have a certain kind of image they want to project and tattoos may not be included in that. However, if it's not on public skin and can be covered then you should be ok.
I've got one on my neck and another (new) one on my wrist and they have never said anything about it, but again it depends on their policies.

I work in retail and the store policy is NO TATTOOS. We had one young woman who had a very tiny stub in her nose, but in general the policy is strictly enforced. Upscale, high-end stores project a certain image, and that image doesn't include tattoos or pierced lips and nose.
