only white bass occure naturally in ohio, all hybrid stryped bass here are stocked by Ohio department of wildlife, which means they are used to being fed on the bottom, which is how they are raised, the biologist's throw feed into the pools, and the fish feed off the bottom, use chicken livers, because the base of what they are fed is this at the pools, so when they are released in the lakes, they feed unnaturally, so use chicken livers, on a 1/0 hook, use pantie hose to hold it on well, and cast towards points from the shoreline.

All along the Northeast coastline from Maine to South Carolina. In the summer, striped bass tend to stay in deeper water. When the cool weather comes in October, they come closer to the shoreline to feed up for the winter.

They're called Striped Bass or Rockfish. They survive best in cold water. When the water temp. in warm in the summer, they are very deep. If they are brought up into the warm water, their swim bladder will swell up into their throat causing them to die.

If you are in middle TN there are huge "Stripers" in the Cumberland River as well as lake tributaries. Go to the website:
http://www.fishin.com and click on PHOTOS to see pictures of those and other fish. A fishing guide is the best way to go if you want to catch a trophy "Striper."
