liek u can harass an overweight person, or a short person, or a smoker or someone weth a lisp. but omg if u criticize someones manners, hair or childrearing. joey dusnt get it *sigh* why cent all hurtful criticisms be unacceptable?

I disagree. I think it is very unacceptable to harrass overweight or short people. Where do you live where that is acceptable?

Well, this is the problem: Critisism can only be taken seriously when it is constructive. Critisism when it is meant to be mean or mean spirited can open a can of worms.
Examples:
Constructive Critisism: Hey Bob, I've noticed that you are trying out for the big part in the play. Why don't you practice on your voice a little with a voice coach and you will do fine.
See, you are telling Bob that basicly he would make a fool out of himself on stage because he can't sing. However it became a constructive critisism when you suggest how to imporve.
Second example:
Sara is wearing the worst dress you had ever seen.
You: Eeee Sara, that dress is horrid
Sara: SCREW YOU!
end of scenerio.
It's all in the way that you deliver. If you do it wrong, it sets people off and turns the defensive.

I would never criticize someone personally for any of the above except smoking & only if it is blowing in my face. I don't smoke but my fiance does. Now if someone criticized how I raised my children , which I am sure some do, I would be pissed. I think hurtful criticism should be kept to a minimum unless it obviously needs to be said, like when a parent beats a child in public or something of that nature.

I unquestionably have observed on mainstream media...ie fox lies I mean information... that they make exciting of all different religions and in basic terms sell christianity.. they even opt for to call u . s . a . a christian u . s . a ., this is hogwash by using fact u . s . a . cant be a christian u . s . a ..(edit) Causality is reality, its called the bronze bull and yeah those existed, so did Iron maidens which of course stabbed you in non-necessary yet extremely painfull places... BTW I even have self belief in unfastened speech so i will criticize every person that i opt for too.. as long as I dont injure every person then....

I'm with you. Mocking anyone's traits or choices should be socially unacceptable. People are hypocritical and they bully people. They call good manners "political correctness" so they can make fun of people they disapprove of. Good manners is treating people the way we want ourselves to be treated.

personally, i don't think people should be criticizing or making fun of anyone, and in a perfect world they wouldn't...but it's true, it seems that some topics are fair game and others are taboo. don't know why.
