it is possible to quit smoking, but the longer the person has been smoking, the harder it will be to quit. If the person has been smoking for several years, his body has been accustomed to the nicotine effects and if he quits, then the withdrawal effects will appear stronger. Hence if the person finds it hard to quit, then he must do it gradually to minimize the withdrawal effects, as compared to "cold turkey" which is where the person quits suddenly. It also helps to get into a plan which includes a healthy diet and mild exercise.

NICOTINE in Cigrettee is very much stronger than human life viz. it can kill and take away the human's life. It is very much possible to quit smoking, and here are some tips to help you get started today!

- Throw away any cigarettes that you have left. Having them there in your sight will make it so much harder to quit smoking.
- Try using gum or candy every time you feel the need to smoke. If this doesn’t work, you can try medical products like nicotine gums or patches to help you quit smoking.
- When you feel the need for a cigarette, take deep breaths for about 3 to 4 minutes. (Don’t hyperventilate, just breathe slowly.)
- Keep a journal about your attempt to quit smoking. Looking back over it will motivate you to keep going, especially if you see how hard you’ve worked.
- When you think you want to smoke, take a ten minute walk. Think about how hard you’ve tried and what you have accomplished. Think of your children, or your spouse, or any other reason you have to quit smoking.
- Often, the habit of smoking is missed more because you have nothing to do with your hands. It’s psychological. Try doing something with your hands while you quit, such as crocheting, learning to play the guitar, or drawing.
- Contact a support group. Going through this can be hard, and speaking to other people who are going through it as well or have already gone through it can make it easier. It’s nice to vent your feelings to someone who will understand exactly what you mean.

One of the things to keep in mind is that you can think of all the good reasons to quit smoking, even including the fact that your hair and your clothes smell like smoke long after you've finished that cigarette. You can tell yourself that you are doing it for other people, but the most successful reason to quit smoking is to do it for YOU. That's right, do it for yourself, for your health, to reduce your expenses, for all of those reasons. If you do it for YOU instead of totally for someone else, the chances that you will stick to it is much greater, because you will hold yourself accountable to YOU.

Only if you have the WILL POWER you can achieve quitting of smoking.

You will be so glad when you are able to kick this habit. The feeling of achievement is something that you will never lose. You will be healthier, happier, and proud. Get started today and good luck. -

nothing is stronger than a human being, it is still a choice whether u want to smoke or not. nicotine can be addictive as other substances but then again, there are ways to stop it , nicotine patch, gum etc. psychological dependence however needs more than that

It is very possible to quit smoking..when I turned 18, I smoked for 2 years..then, I met this guy that didn't like me smoking...*my first love* and I stopped for him...I didn't smoke for 1 1/2 yrs....but we just recently broke up so I picked it back up again. More so when I am drinking haha...but I believe its all in the head and its more of a social thing, well..it is to me anyways! But if you are a smoker and you're trying to quit, I wish you luck! Its for the better...it makes you smell better too!

Ask your doctor for a medicine called Chantix. It's a miracle drug. I smoked for 30 years, after taking Chantix one week, I smoked my last cigarette. No will power involved! I took the drug fro 3 more weeks for insurance. You can take it as long as you need to. No side effects! It's been 9 months and I am still smoke free!
