He is so sweet and got a lovely temprament! It's just that after stroking him once he's started purring, he then likes to get stuck in to his butt, which can be annoying if your trying to sleep.
Have tried Marmite and English Mustard, but he liked them! Please can anyone help!

You can get a spray called...Bitter Apple....at Petsmart, Petco, or Walmart, to name a few, and spray around the area that he's so "interested" in. They don't like the taste or the smell. I once had a mama cat who licked her kittens so much that she made sores on them. After I sprayed the Bitter Apple, she stopped! Good luck.....

hmm... Is it nursing??? A butt is a weird place to nurse but that may be what he's doing!. You should look into Grannick's bitter apple spray (Can find it at pet stores, usually in the dog section, but it can be used on cats too). I'm not sure if it will harm him if you spray it on his butt though... You could try calling them and asking... sorry I dont have a number on the bottle that I have...

I think the cat just try to clean his butt, not suckle it. See if he licks the butt, or suckle it. if not, is he neutered?

I know someone who sprays water on their cats whenever the cats do something unacceptable. pretty soon, the cats learn to fear the spray bottle.

Or you can always suckle his butt for him so he doesn't have to.
