The two errors of Luther, it can be seen, contain within them two seeds of truth; salvation is indeed the work of God, and not the work of Man, and Scripture is indeed the very Word of God, which should be accorded the highest authority; but Luther goes wrong when he takes these very true principles and elevates them to the point that they exclude the other truths involved. If salvation is God's work, it is also true that part of God's work is drawing Man up to the status of sonship, so that Man now becomes privileged to share in the work of God - a co-worker with God, as St. Paul put it; if Scripture should be given the highest authority, the next highest authority in the hierarchy is not the individual believer, but the "God-breathed" Magisterium of the Church (cf. Jn. 20:21-23). There can be no eliminating this Divinely appointed "middle man," and substituting the authority of the individual for the authority of the Church.

In sum, we can take these two foundational pillars of the Reformation, and demonstrate how they contain necessary truths in their essence; but we must also show how they unnecessarily truncate the truth, and thus become enemies of the very principles they wish to promote. The Protestant truths here are hampered because they are left incomplete; sola scriptura needs to be understood as prima scriptura, so that the truth concerning the Church can be admitted into the discussion; sola fide needs to be understood as sola gratia, so that the truth about Divine sonship can be allowed to flourish.

No Catholic thinks that the Pope is more important than Jesus Christ.

If a Catholic stated a belief that the Pope (or any other human) was more important than Jesus Christ, then he or she would automatically be excommunicated from the Catholic Church for heresy.

The rumor of this heresy is spread by anti-Catholics who feel no guilt in bearing false witness against their neighbors. Please do not participate or cooperate in their agenda of hate. Thank you.

With love in Christ.

When did the original MLK do such a thing. MLK was all about peaceful organized demonstrations against social inequality. The pope is much like the presidents and prime ministers of the western world; charismatic figureheads with no real power. We must work to expose the Power Elite at their core in order to take the power back!
Power to the People!

Protestantism, or perhaps about 90-95% of Protestantism, has been given over to post-modernism, it will be very tough these days for a good person of truth to rise above both the Papacy and post-modernism, in order to bring the truth of the gospel of the LORD Jesus Christ for many to rally around; most in these last days have no desire for truth.

Perhaps you should commence with a thorough study of the catholic position concerning the primacy of the pope. That way, even if you still disagree, you would at least be informed.

Peace.

Wow. You talk about kicking someone's b_tt, and then point the finger at someone else and call them evil.
Rome is a beautiful city (ever been there?) and the pope is a gentlmanly old man - not to mention the Vicar of Christ. And what are you, besides being foul-mouthed ?
