Commercial peanut butter, no. Natural peanut butter, yes - because there's no preservatives, the oil separates and can turn rancid.

If it is commercial peanut butter, no. But if it is natural peanut butter from the Health-Food Shop then yes as this one doesn't have any preservatives in it.
Kraft peanut butter for example has salt and sugar and oil in it to preserve and flavour it. When peanut butter is in the fridge, it goes too hard anyway and is too difficult to spread without putting holes in your bread.
Hope this helps and have a great day/night!!!

Regualr peanut butter can be kept at room temperature. Natural peanut butter (whose oil settles on top) should be kept in the fridge after it is opened and stirred, unless you don't mind mixing the peanut butter every time you want to use it.

If it the natural kind that you have to stir before using it will not re-separate if you keep it in the fridge. You don't have to keep it there but it will keep you from having to stir it each time you use it. Those kinds of peanut butter usually don't get too hard in the fridge either.

Organic peanut butter with no preservatives require refrigeration after opening, but regular store brands do not. I've used both

depends. Read the label. If it is Jif or skippy no. If it is a natural based peanut butter with oil that you mix, then yes.

It will be fine at room temp. I knew a guy who kept it so long that it separated. The oil came to the top, and the brown nut mixture went to the bottome. He stirred it up and ate it!

No, it does not need to be refrigerated. Plus, leaving it at room temp makes it easier to spread on toast or a sandwich too.
