Rae, I just got back from New York... it was my first time since I was a baby...
I wasn't at all stressed out, I felt like I was home.. I love your city. But... I could see how LIVING there would stress you out. The commute alone would have done me in...
I shopped and strolled and met alot of new people... but I didn't have to work while I was there, I didn't have to grocery shop, or go to the bank. I got to just relax and feel the vibe the city puts out...
I spent two months there, and it was wonderful. I'm glad I'm back in Reno, but I do miss your city... alot.

ALL those people and yet it's so hard to find someone that you can be meaningful friends with. Everyone is so out for themselves it isn't funny. You could get run over by a truck and 2,000 people woudld walk right by you and not offer a single bit of help. In fact, some jerk would pick your pocket while you were lying in the street, unconscious. LOL But it sure is a nice place to have a good time. You can be as crazy as you want and no one will even notice it.

New York isn't stressful. The people who lived there get stressed by situations beyond their control. My son would love to move to New York City!

Considering there are 32 thousand people to a square mile or something. That may have something to do with it.
I recently came back from New York the 1st day i hated it cos it was stressful.
Once you know your way around & get used to it, it's fine!
I'd go back now if i got the chance!
Once you get the hang of the streets & Aves your fine...If you keep going right 4 times you'll get back to where you started or something like that.
Me & My Sister Walked from are hotel on 48th went to Bloomingdales which is 60 something st..then to 45th street then to Macy's which is quite a walk!
We didn't get lost once as we worked out the "system" of the different aves etc!

Money. NYC is the world's financial center. Yes Tokyo, London, Paris, Hong Kong are huge financial centers but not as big as NYC. There eveyone is trying to get their slice of the pie. Just imagine if someone told a dozen starving people there were eight slices of pizza hidden in a room and no one was allowed to share. That's how stress is formed. Everyone is trying to get a slice or two or three or more of the pie.

There is sooo much stuff going on at once at all times. Traffic, people, buildings ... You have to find a spot to relax from time to time. Check out Java Girl Coffee Shop on 66th Street and 1st Avenue, Manhattan's Upper East Side to catch a breather and relax a bit from your NYC busy and stressful day.

New York is a Feng Shui nightmare. There is so much Sha Qi ("bad chi") moving through that city that it pains me to think that someone as nice as you has chosen to live and work there.
Get out! Get out now!!!! SAVE YOURSELF, RAE!!!!

It's not stressful, it's fast-paced. We have places to go, things to do.
