Technically, yes you can. There are some straighteners that are made just for that. However, it is also very bad for your hair. The water acts as a conductor for the heat and can scald your hair, plus the evaporation of the water will strip every bit of moisture with it. Some people have had good results this way but it damages hair in the long run. Better to dry hair 100% before straightening, and use a thermal protectant product.

It's bad to do that, you can severly damage your hair, and it'll turn out looking bad. Wait until it is completly dry, blow dry if you have to ( I always use conditioner plus a spray leave in conditioner cause blow dry + straighten = damage!), then use a straightening iron.

Moist no... if it's just slightly damp that's not a big deal. The moisture will only steam out of your hair. If it's too damp though it will only become wavy again once it starts to dry.

there are supposed to be some 'wet/dry' irons that will straighten towel dried hair. but every iron i've had said 'do not use on wet hair' so i'd be careful.
if it's a regular iron NO. one - it'll fry your hair. two - your working with an electricity. hellooooo

If you want to do that you need to purchase a straightener that is for wet/dry hair. They sell them at walmart for about $30.00. If the one you are using is for dry hair then it is bad. You are just frying your hair.
