Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds

Thanks fo the question sister, anyway I am not a prophet however ill tell you about one.
A young english woman by the name Ellen G white received visions from God from when she waz only 17. this girl continued to receive visions through her life and wrote many books. These were mostly prophesies of what is going to happen to the world in the near future, how to live...and the recipe for the original cornflakes from kellogs is from God through a vision to encourage people to eat healthy food, look at cornflakes all over the world now.......She also holds the record for being the female writer who wrote more books more than any female.....
I know most young people today do not read a lot but i recommend her reads, she was a true prophet from God....im not sure if some or more are coming in the near future. But if God wants he will . However i dnt have to worry bout prophets because what ellen g white wrote is just so deep...ellen g white..research.

Well, for one, the prophets ended when Christ came. All the prophets prophesied about the coming of Christ. We do have the Revelation of John (or just Revelation).
As for modern miracles and wonder workers, well, they exist. St. Nicholas (the real St. Nicholas who was at the first Ecumenical Council) still performs miracles for people today. Yes, he has fallen asleep, but he is anything but dead. There are two clairvoyant monks today that reside in Arizona at St. Anthony's Orthodox Monastery. One of them told my friend several of the sins he had overlooked while he was in confession, as my testimony to the truth of this claim.
I know someone who was healed from cancer by the intercessions of St. Nektarios.
Some smaller prophesies have been made by saints concerning individuals and certain circumstances. They are contained within the records of the lives of the Saints. You can read some of these accounts at www.deathtotheworld.com and at www.oca.org.
We don't have people today who "speak with the Lord" as you put it, because Jesus accomplished this on the Cross. Jesus sends the Holy Spirit, severing the boundary - prayer is our communication with God and it is sufficient since the Spirit dwells in us.
If you want a modern day saint who is still living and does converse with God similar to the degree Moses did, consider traveling down to St. Anthony's Greek Orthodox Monastery in Arizona. Elder Ephraim is considered a living Saint by all of the wisest I have spoken to. If you doubt what I say, there is no better way to prove me wrong than to go down there and see for yourself if what I claim is false.

I resent that. Oh, I have to be serious. I think he's percolating a massive number of great people, as we are all great, even Godlike. The whole thing is about to erupt on the scene. I think we have been following leaders and traditions just like in Jesus' day. That won't get you far. There have been many great people, but they are scattered about. Mainly though we have been sort of devolving. I wish you would check this out and see if it means a change coming or it touches your heart or something.

I think there are prophets and that God is speaking to us all the time.
The problem is that we don't recognize them (the prophets). Too many people expect the Cecil B DeMille God: thunder and lightening and voices from the sky. God doesn't talk to us that way.
I think some of the more recent prophets have been: Flannery O'Connor, Martin Luther King Jr., Michael Moore, David Foster Wallace, and Cindy Sheehan.
The bible itself says that a prophet is never recognized as a prophet until it is too late.

I have a serious answer which I know I'll get ridiculed for.
My answer is: The Pope.
I'll give you one example: Pope Paul VI encyclical titled Humanae Vitae. It was written in the 60's about the time when birth control pills went on the market. He said that the contraceptive mentality would lead to mass divorces, abortions, and women not being given the respect that they are due. I ask you: Did those things not come to pass? Do we not have far more divorces & abortions than 40 years ago?
That's one example. There are more.
EDIT: Holy Moly! This question really brought the LDS people out, didn't it. No offense, but to you protestants who claim the Catholic Church changed the Bible, look at Joseph Smith: He added on a whole extra book!

I think the prophesy in the Old Testament was fulfilled by the coming of Jesus, right? But there have been some modern day miracles, mostly healings, that doctors can't explain medically. And there has also been notable people such as Ghandi and Mother Teresa who have done many good works for God------Blessings!

Well, I think there are, but the more people, the less they are heard. Moses only had to convince a few thousand people, not as easy to convince millions at one time.
But still your point is well taken and hopefully a prophet, that is, one as great as Moses will come again soon.

Moses was sent to release God's people from slavery...
Moses was a human prophet, and the nation that enslaved his people was a human institution.
Jesus was sent to release God's people from slavery...
except this time, the system that has enslaved them is a spiritual institution...
Moses was a prophet, and, in a strictly human sense, he was a "messiah"...he freed his people from slavery to Egypt.
Jesus was a prophet, and more than a prophet...He was God Himself, the ultimate Messiah, Who freed His people from slavery to death.
God speaks to His people directly today. Jesus promised that His followers would hear His voice, and He would know them, as well...He promised, also, that His followers would not follow a stranger's voice.
Note: He did NOT say that there would not be strange voices clamoring for our ears...only that His people would not follow such.
Think about it.

There have been many, you just aren't listening! What about Einstein, he is one famous man whom God "had the ear of", but there have been many more. Today's prophets are scientists.
Every past prophet was disavowed by the religious establishment, so are todays!
There are even many modern miracles (though the religious establishment doesn't accept them as miracles). We see them everyday. Television and radio broadcast, airplanes, cell phone communication, treatment of viral diseases, these are all modern miracles! Jesus raised 1 man from the dead, modern doctors raise hundreds from the dead every day through the use of modern miracles. These are all miracles which have come through the worship of God by examination of the universe which God created and which is part of God. (The process of science IS worship of God!)
