He decides what happens to them and he can change it so that they don't go to Hell. If it saddens him why doesn't he do something with them that doesn't sadden him?
It's like you telling me you are saddened that your kids will get a severe beating from you for disobeying. They don't have to get one, you can give a time-out which does not sadden you and still works.

None of you Christians get it. Even assuming we have free will (which we don't), GOD CHOOSES THE FREAKIN CONSEQUENCES of that choice. He can change them. IT DOES NOT HAVE TO BE HELL.

msgiggly: "U may be suggesting a less severe punishment, but what is the alternative if u want to get rid of sin totally?
-- Really, I thought God was omnipotent. He can simply wish it to be so and it will be so. How about not creating it in the first place? How about making it like Heaven where you have free will AND no evil.

randyken: But in your analogy you don't control what happens to her because of that choice. God would have control and that makes a big difference.

He allows them the ability to make their own decision to go there.
Yes.....it does sadden Him, but He does not stand in the way of choices they make

God makes us with the ability to choose. He does not determine these choices. We r free to do what we wnat. We may choose to bey him or disobey. Both have consequences. Lets look at ur anology .pARENTS PUNISH THEIR CHILDREN SO THAT THEY CAN LEARN RIGHT FROM WRONG AND MAKE GOOD CHOICES SO THAT THEY CAN BECOME PRODUCTIVE AND GOOD HUMAN BEINGS. GOD WANTS THE SAME FOR US, SO HE CHASENS. U may be suggesting a less severe punishment, but what is the alternative if u want to get rid of sin totally? There is no other alternative but to get rid of the bad ones.U need to ask Him to help u to see it this way so that u will not lose ur soul. I will be praying 4 u. All the best.

I think you've gone too far with this thought process. If He kept nonbelievers from hell, free-will would not exist. If free-will doesn't exist, then we are esentially robots, acting out through an unseen but ever-present predetermination about life. And finally, if that is the case, we cannot label anyone immoral, let alone criminal, if they are only acting out a predetermined life.
edit: This can also be likened to a romantic relationship. Say I see that I am very compatible with a woman, but she continually goes for the "wrong" guys (they mistreat, maybe abuse her). She gets SOMETHING out of it (or else she wouldn't do it anymore). Do I say, "No, quit messing with thses idiots and be with me" or let her continue to make her own decisions, even if they are ultimately detrimental to her?
I say, no question, option #2.
edit#2: I, personally, am not sure I believe in a hell. Reason being, if Satan existed, why would he punish those that do what he hopes we will do, namely rebel against God? Therefore, if we have done his bidding and defied God, wouldn't there be a reward from Satan? Hell to me is the absence of God. To go to hell is to be condemned to never meet or be with God or those who have chosen a path to God after our bodies have died.
edit #3: But if I did have control, could MAKE her be with me, the relationship I imagine would feel totally void of all emotion and therefore hollow. It has to come down to free will, or emotions are merely figments of imagination.

There are several principles at work here. One: from birth, we are counted guilty of sin. Two: hell is the destination for those convicted of sin. Three: we can choose to go or not to go. Four: God has given us this choice. It is Jesus Christ.
God allows consequences to happen to us based upon good and bad choices. We cannot blame Him just because he knows which choices we will make. All of our behavior here on earth can be forgiven. But it is only through the blood of Christ that it can be done. He was sacrificed for that forgiveness. There is no other offering for that. If we reject it, we are lost forever. Our choice sends us to hell of heaven. Not His vengefulness or wrath.
And God is eternal. Every decision we make for or against Him has eternal consequences.

God also gives us a free will to believe in His word and obey it. And by faith, it does sadden God when we reject His love. He does care what happens to us, and He CAN and WILL keep atheists and all sinners from Hell, but you have to submit your LIFE to Him. God is just like a loving parent, when we go against Him, it makes Him sad-- but to EVERYTHING there is a consequence. Time OUT does NOT work... God has been giving this world a time out for a long time, and it has gotten us NOWHERE but destruction. Better get it together people! WAKE UP! Stop letting the devil deceive you!

Or, you could just create kids without giving them the opportunity to disobey.
If God can keep everybody happy in heaven without violating some incoherent idea like "free will" or whatever, why didn't she do that from the start?

Because Go said "I put before ye life and death, choose life. Atheist knowingly and willingly choose not to follow God. And since God doesn't mess with free will. It's not his fault if Atheist won't listen. God Bless Your Soul.

God doesn't send no one to Hell - they send theirselves. They reject his Son. It saddens God that anyone would reject his Son as payment for their sins. And what is so crazy about it is : he died for us all - so that no one should perish. It's up to us where we'll spend eternity. Some just choose the road to Hell.Sad really - when salvation is a free gift from God.

It is Their choice----
I hear a lot of comments about Christian robots-- but then we have questions like this -- If he did EVERYTHING for us-- we WOULD be robots---
**********************************************
I understand not wanting the evil-- But these things MUST run the course so that all beings may see the true color of evil & then it can be destroyed with out anyone questioning ..why..
