Hi and Good morning....I do believe that some of the Scriptures that had been told by Jesus are true due to my faith and my Christianity. However I do have an open mind for controversy on what was written in the Old Testament and some issues in the New Testament. I feel that one has to consider the era that the Bible was written and the cultures of the people and the land back when the Bible was written and the stories for told. I'm not saying that the Scriptures are not truthful, I'm saying one has to consider the time period when it was written and go from there. Have a blessed day!

The only reason that Christianity continues to grow the fastest and today has by far more believers than any other religion is because

1. This is God's will.

2. Jesus is 100% fully here in Spirit to lovingly and mercifully Guide us into His ALL TRUTH of GOD ! (See Him in Spirit for full Conviction of Truth; or read and believe fully in the Bible John 16:7-16

3. So when you sincerely read the Bible, or peruse any media past to present, and are also seeking God and His Spirit Guidance, you will know better if Jesus actually said that. If it sounds as if Jesus said that, He probably did; if it does not sound as if Jesus said that, He probably did not.
Of the four Gospels in the Bible, John is best and has the better Eternal Now viewpoint. Pay very close attention to John 1:1-18, 3:16; 3:31-36; 4:23-24; 4:42; 5:21-28; 8:31-32; 8:58; all of chapters 10 through 17; 19:30; 20:28-31; 21:25 Matthew is the most defective with a slant to convert Jews then and now. Matthew ch 24 is very corrupted.

4. Personal God-consciousness continues within many humans to give them the Spirit Conviction of the deep and eternal Truths in the Bible and other books and media.
Later I may write "Visions of our Loving Father God." The Apostle Paul, Blaise Pascal and Charles Finney will be in there; many others.

Peace and progress,

No, you can't trust everything you read - you would be foolish to do so. Anything written by humanity is suspect. Take the newspapers - the only thing you can believe in them is the date. However, the Bible does make the claim that it's writings are inspired by God. No newspaper does.

Absolutely not. The bible is a good history book. I don't think it was ever meant to take literally.
In the middle ages, monks used to spend their entire lives copying this book. They were bound to take liberties with the recopying and the translation. Also, there are several versions of the Bible in existence today. St. James version,Deway version, Mormon bible and on and on.
Believe whatever seems right for you. But do not let a man made book be the beginning and end of your personal faith

One way we know is because we have Christianity around even to this day. Christianity has not gone the way of many religions which are considered dead. All I am say in this is that the evidence of it's prominence is one thing to consider.

Another thing I can point to is what happened to the Apostles of the early church. Almost all of them suffered a death that doesn't make them rich or well off. They did not claim themselves as being anything great, but preached someone else ( Jesus) and that was enough for:
1) two to be crucified
2) one to be whipped until his skin came off and his muscles were hanging to the ground,
3) Another to be thrust through by a Brahman sword,
4) Another to be hung by idolatrous priests in Greece,
5) Another to have been stoned and his brains dashed out with a club ( that wasn't actually an Apostle, but James the half brother of Jesus),
6) An attempt to be boiled in oil, from which he miraculously escaped and then was exiled on Patmos,

These men died for what they were preaching, something that liars are typically not willing to do.

And then there is the greatest witness of them all, the Spirit of God who affects those who believe the story. We who are so affected have proof of God that He gave only to us. Not because we are so wonderful, in fact, it's quite the opposite. But only because we decided to trust God and believe the story.

So without the weight of the rest of the world's values weighing us down, we are committed to the truth of what is written.

People since the more ancient times have endured greater harm than those who I mentioned before. We had the Inquisitions that tested men, women, and children with tortures specially devised to get non Roman Catholics to submit to the doctrines of Rome.

So the evidence is recorded throughout history. But proof is held on to by God, and He decides who receives it!

Certainly not. However as to the bible many greater minds than you and I had a hand in putting the works together and many more have tried to disprove it.
Most of the writings of Jesus are documented through Jewish and Roman history.
How can we know what we believe if we don't read and study?
God Bless!

No. What survives in the modern Bible is the result of who knows how many well-intentioned editors and groups of believers. Did everything Jesus said get recorded? No; only those significant utterings that were deemed worthy of continued worship. And don't forget, history and the record of it is all in the hands of the historians, who don't always get it right and unfiltered into the record.

Crazy, right? So many prophets and miracle workers who could say they're Jesus who were around so long ago. What if Jesus didn't die at Calvary and taught the East Indians a thing or two. It doesn't matter if he existed or was what we thought he was. All that matters is that we see him as an example to how we should be and believe in that and carry on his work.

You can absolutely trust the Bible. It had wonderful medical advice way before it would have been discovered by man. It has innumerable fulfilled prophesies.ETC. I suggest you read the book The Case For Christ by Lee Strobel. He was an unbeliever who's wife became a Christian and he noticed a huge change in her. He is a reporter and decided to investigate Christianity. This book documents his research. There's a web site called Alibris where you can get books cheap. God bless!!
