A good amount to donate per month would be 10% of your total monthly income. So that would be about 2.5% of your total monthly income per Sunday. However, serving the church in various ways or donating to charities can also fulfill the tithing obligation.

The church donation evolved from what was once used to support the comunity and was nornaly 10% of your income.

The Mormon Church ask for 10% and that you put away a nother 10% for personal savings

I don't think that to many churches ask for a set fee and if your new to a church I'm shure that a token doller or so will do for now.

I am certain you will get the standard answer from many, but I will still answer: A tithe is traditionally 10% of your income. It is the "firstfruits" of your labor, given back to God (everything actually belongs to Him anyway).

From a practical side, we have personally experienced tremendous blessings when we are faithful with our tithe, even when we think we cannot afford it. God always provides for us....with a few bonuses along the way.

A tithe done with the right spirit will be a blessing to you.

The bible tells us to give a tithe; which is 10% of all of our wages.

It goes on to speak about giving offerings. Offerings are anything above and beyond that.

Ask the Lord, He will give you the right amount.

The bible says we rob God in tithes and offerings. In Malachi 3.

It's not our money; it's His and we the stewards of it.

The N.T. says nothing about tithing for Christians. Give what God leads you to give. I've found 10% of my income is an easy amount to do.

Depends on what you have. You should not be a penny-pincher, nor should you give so much that you cut into the needs of your family. Remember the story of the "Widow's Mite".
As for the old 10% rule, that smacks of Old Testament Law. You will know in your heart if your giving the right amount or not.

Ten percent of your earnings before taxes.

Or more.

This should include earnings from part time jobs, allowances from your parents, etc.

And of course earnings from full time job.

Don't feel you need to give each week. Give as often as you get paid.

10% of your gross income is the tithe. Anything above and beyond that is an offering.
Anything less is robbing God.
