everyday i start my day with an apple and water, then later at like 4pm i eat a small meal.
some days i do have a snack like a piece of cake on the weekends, but i'm healthy, i'm not stick thin, but my dad thinks i have a problem and wants me to go to a clinic or something, but for me it's not a big deal. i'm healthy, but like how do i tell him i'm ok, everything i'm telling him isn't helping, and when i do eat like 5 small meals a day i feel sick and gain weight.
do you know a site that talks about like health, and eating right without having to eat 5 meals to show him, if not thax anyways

Most people with an eating disorder don't know it. The worst thing is when two or more people with the same disorder get together. Now they thnks it's normal!

You are concerned enough about this to post a question, take the next step. Talk to a doctor or a nutritionist. I am guessing that you are eating less than 800 calories a day, and that is way too little. You need to find out how many calories you should be eating, and getting those calories through healthy food.

I am guessing you are an adolecent. You body is buring tons of energy transforming itself. If you don't have enough fuel you could end up hurting yourself.

At this rate you can look foward to hair and tooth loss, and forget about having kids.

Food is not something that "makes yo fat", it is fuel for the body. You need it.

Talk to your doctor and get on a plan that is right for you.

Best wishes

I don't think you have a disorder but I do think that the lack of balance in the foods you're eating could, in the long run cause some problems like weigh gain or high blood sugar or anemia. The trick is to eat balanced meals a little bit of all the food groups so that you're body doesn't get too much of one thing and not enough of the other. And since our bodies are 60% water, drink lots of it. Do this and believe me it will show I wish people would understand that you really are what you eat if your insides are well kept it will show on the outside.

Yes you do have an eating disorder!! One apple, water, and one "small meal" a day and one piece of cake on the weekends is not enough for your body to be healthy. I can assure you if you began to eat 3 - 5 small meals a day, you would notice an improvement in what you thought was your "healthy body". Most anorexics and bulemics are in denial. They say they don't have a problem!! sounds like your father is right to be concerned. You can eat multiple meals a day and still stay at very healthy weight...the key is to pick the right kinds of foods. My cousin swore up and down, right to left that she didn't have an eating disorder, she said she was just a very thin person. Her mother had had enough of her starving herself on "one small meal a day".....she stood 5'11" and weighed in at 103 pounds!!!! She ended up damaging her thyroid (organ that controls your metabolism) and had to have part of it removed. Now she's on a daily med for the rest of her life!!! Get help NOW!!

Darling, your dad is right, and the sooner you realise it the best. You have a serious malnutrition problem. I am sure you are skinny, and you probably can't see it. Check your body mass index, and start eating 5 small meals. The fact that you gain weight when you eat normally shows that you are starving yourself the rest of the time, and you consume your lean muscle. Even if your weight is normal, your diet is not healthy.

Your healthy? Sorry to say but that eating is NOT healthy. Hit the gym, do cardio and weight lifting 5 times a day. You'll look hot as hell, be HEALTHY, and you WILL and CAN eat more because your metabolism has increased greatly and you need to fuel the muscles that are being repaired.

Obviously you don't want to be fat, which is a start, but just like obese you can be severely underweight without thinking it. Hit the weights and cardio and you'll love yourself 50x more and your dad will like your increased appetite.

Also working out releases endorphins so when you're done you feel great afterwards.

You most likely don't have a disorder; if you're full from eating small meals, you might just have a small stomach.

It's not always a disorder. But you might want to find out if what you're doing is healthy. It might be, in your case, that your body can get alot from foods that don't supply alot.

Just be safe, when you need to eat, eat. When you don't, don't.

I hate to be the one to say but you are NOT eating healthy. An apple a day is not giving you all the nutrients you need. I'm not sure what the 4p.m. meal is but either way, you are not being good to your body. What you are doing in effect is starving your system. So, when you have the 4p.m. meal. .your body is saying. . hmmm. . food. . not sure when I'll get more of this. So, it holds onto all of the fats, calories and stores them. . ultimately shutting of it's ability to burn fat and calories. Your body is currently in a survival mode. Not good. You need to nourish your body so it can grow and fight off infections. You need to eat more fruits, veggies and get your carbs and proteins to be healthy. You may initially feel sick and feel like you are gaining weight but your body is really just adjusting to actually getting food. This feeling of fullness/sickness will subside as your body re-balances itself. You will NOT find a healthy site that will support your current eating habit. Sorry. Listen to your Dad, he loves you and is concerned, as he should be. You only get one body in this life, you need to take care of it. Good luck!!
