Rapid clicking followed by dash lights getting weaker = Battery. 1 hard solid click with no change in dash lights = starter. Corolla's are notorious for eating starters.

Okay try this open the hod listen for the clicking noise if it's clicking @ the starter find it on the bottom or where you can on the car...toyota usually has it near the tranny in the fron somewhere..grab a hammer and tap it a few times..if you wanna be lazy and not go that route just try turning the car on again this time do it fast let the clicking noise go a few times it should go if the starter just started dying..but replace it asap***now can i get my ten points?*

YOu have enough juice left in your battery to power the low draw items in your car but not enough for something that needs some serious grunt like the starter. Throw a trickle charge on the battery and see if it holds a charge. You can take it to Auto Zone/ Checker auto/ NAPA and they will check the battery for you too. Some places will sell you a new one and then put it in also. The Auto Zone near me did.

Could be the starter solenoid, if you have checked the battery, and it's connections.
