Every day, we come here and squabble, argue, and snipe at one another for our different beliefs.
Then, when an obvious troll comes along unfairly bashing a particular group, people of all beliefs unite to cut that person up.
When one of the nerds from Polls and Surveys comes here to attempt to take us down, everyone here unites and they cut that person up.
Once that's done, we go back to our bickering.
What does this say about us? Does it say anything about religion, as a whole?

We are warlike? We love the battle? Or maybe as in real life we let our egos make our decisions for us. There is a great quote about this but I can't find it right now.
Something like: "Cleverness will only be attributed to ones enemy, never ones friends." So among friends we will never allow someone to be clever or smarter. This is, of course, human nature, which I view as a human defect. Yet if asked separately each person will claim to be humble.

I think it shows that no matter how much our squabbles mean to us in the moment, they are unimportant in a wider perspective.
I'm quite happy, because I'm not squabbling with anyone at any time. Doesn't mean I don't get your point, though. lol
I dunno whether it says anything about religion (or lack of. *nods to the Atheists*) as a whole, though. Just that all of us in general are on a learning curve, and we are prepared to stick up for ourselves against anyone disrupting that. We learn from our squabbles, strangely....
Human nature's a quirky thing, innit?

I think it shows that most of us are big enough people that we can rise above something like religious differences if the need be. Granted we'll always revert back to form, but that just shows that we're all a bunch of contrary b@stards. Nothing wrong with that.

Most of those on this board are more passionate about their beliefs and understandings than the general population. For this reason we have heated, juvenile discussions about our differing opinions. Beyond that, we're actually somewhat similar. Kind of scary.

Not really. You're making a generalization about the entire community of Yahoo! Answers. True, some people squabble, bicker, argue, etc. Others come to the Religion and Spirituality section because they are curious. And still others come to engage in meaningful conversation about topics that matter deeply to them. I don't think it's fair to say that the actions of the squabblers reflect poorly on the entire group, or religion as a whole.

That religion is a separation that is completely forgotten when survival comes in to play? I thought so.
