There 'needs be' a justification for all those Hummers, Navigators and Suburbans lined up in the temple parking lots.
Who are they kidding? Are they waiting for a revelation saying stop? How about a revelation with a plan to feed the starving peoples from the current lack of resources? How about a revelation for a cure for dysentery or cholera? How about being part of the solution instead of a being them main contributor to the problem?
God's plan my as$.

That's actually an urban legend. Most Mormon families have between 3-5 children, which is the typical American average.
In the 1800s', after the Mormon pioneers came to Utah, a lot of husbands had died. The remaining living husbands took in additional wives to PROTECT them. The result was a lot of children.
In the late 1800s', President Wilford Woodruff passed the Manifesto...which outlawed polygamy in the LDS Church.
So now there are an average number of children in Mormon families.

I have 3
Mormons, Catholics, and Muslims have a lot I think
LDS get to choose birth control if they want to without restriction (even though they have had council against it up through the early 90's but it is not-banned). No one has ever asked me about using BC or not. I think every couple I know in the church uses BC but I don't ask them I just assume. Large families in the church are much more rare but still happens mor than in some religions.
Over-population is not as big of a problem as they thought in the 60's

They're not the only ones having tons of kids....look at the Chinese population! (almost)1/3 of the world is there alone!
There are only 13 million Mormons...
As far as "limbo-souls" no...Mormons believe that we were all angels in Heaven, but because we didn't know emotion, we didn't know how perfect Heaven is and how happy we were there, so God sent us to earth so we would learn what pain, sadness, anger, etc was so when we returned to him we would know how perfect Heaven was and how happy we were before...

We don't know how many spirits God has prepared for this world and all of them need to receive their mortal bodies in order to progress. We would rather those spirits go to families where they can receive gospel instruction as opposed to going where they will only learn worldly philosophies. Secondly, the mandate to multiply and replenish the earth is still in effect today so for us to thwart the natural consequence of our marital relationship is to mock God and His commandments to the children of men. That doesn't mean that we can't be wise about our family planning. My wife and I felt spiritually motivated to have our six children and when the last one was born, we knew that we were done. That was all that God had prepared for us.
We are told that in the last days it is wise to have small families so maybe that counsel is now coming into play.

ex-mormon, the concept is that all of Gods wives and some mormons only believe thathe has one but some of UT mormons know better and some of Ut mormons know that Jesus has three wives he marrie don earth to, anyways, Gid has many wives who have spirtual children, will they need bodies and ther e is a certain number of them in heaven, so they want as many spirit children to be birn to as many mormon families as possible, so hence the desire for mormons to marry and start a family ASAP. Christians don't believe this, my church believes that some women are given a gift to have a lot of children and some women have one and work outside of the home. We have two families who have 12 kids and three families who have 8 kids, most of the families in our church homeschool the kids. The family on TLC, their last name has escaped my mind, they have 16 kids, they are babtists, so some people who have big families are not always mormons, they are gifted women.

I really don't think Mormons are having that many more babies than the rest of the people.
They used to have bigger families but I think Mormon families are getting smaller.
Catholics were also noted for having big families.

Like catholics mormans do not believe in birth control. The fact we are over populated doesn't mean much because god sends the children and god has a plan and knows what he is doing.

They believe the souls start out in heaven so everytime you have a child you save them by not allowing someone else to have them. If someone else has them they may not grow up in the Mormon church. That is also why they started out with polygamy, more wives more kids.
