There is scriptural evidence as to the true church. Seek and ye shall find.

Most, if not all, Christian sects (mainstream and otherwise) claim to teach the "true" doctrine (or, at least, the closest to the "true" doctrine). If there were strong scriptural evidence supporting one sect over another, there would not be nearly so many sects. There is no good answer to this question.

I hope this helps.

There is no scriptural evidence for a particular denomination other than Christian. The Bible doesn't define a church except to say that believers should gather together and share their beliefs.

Most denominations of Christian churches believe that "Christian" is the faith and that the denomination is more about interpretation. They don't say necessarily that other Christian denominations are right or wrong, just that they are different. You will find more incongruity talking Catholic versus Protestant, but generally the animosity doesn't arise until you speak of things like Buddhism, Islam, or particular sects (like the Mormons) that many other Christian churches consider pagan, heathen, non-believer, or cult.

You won't be able to find any scriptural evidence that suggests one denomination is more Biblically "sanctioned" than another, however. There are certainly some "true believers" who think only their version of the faith is correct, but they are in the minority.

On the day of Pentecost, Christ established His church. That is the true church. The church of Christ surfaced in the US with the intention of being just Christians and collectively, just the New Testament church. This is a Biblical definition. In other words, Christians everywhere make up His church. It's not a denominational issue. God doesn't save groups, He saves individuals. That doesn't mean every congregation of the church of Christ you come in contact with will believe the same but, as a general rule, that's what you'll find.

No denominational group is "the church". The church is the body of Christ which is made up of all true believers who have repented of their sin and accepted Christ Jesus as their LORD and Savior.
John 14:6 Jesus said unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me.
Acts 2:38,47 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Praising God, and having favor with all the people. And the LORD added to the church daily as should be saved.

Read the 1st chapter of Colossians for a fuller understanding, but here is a taste of what you will find.
Colossians 1:18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the first-born from the dead; that in all things he might have the pre-eminence.

Colossians 1:24 Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body's sake, which is the church.

You see, denominations were man-made. But the church is God-made. Unless you repent of your sin and accept Jesus Christ as your Savior it doesn't matter what building you go to, you still are not a member of the church. You are just somebody in a building made by man that will one day crumble to the ground. Accept Christ as Savior and you will be a part of the Church that lives forever.

Matthew 16:18, 19. Clearly Peter is to be the head of the Church in Christ's stead. Equally clearly when it's time for Peter to go home to God, there's gotta be a successor with the same authority. Guess who? Benedict XVI currently.

Revelation 12:17 (New International Version)

17Then the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to make war against the rest of her offspring—those who obey God's commandments and hold to the testimony of Jesus.

Woman = The Church
Dragon = Satan
Notice the key words in descibing --the Church's offspring-- (followers of God)
These people will follow God's Commandments AND hold the testimony of Jesus... Not one or the other-- but BOTH!!
Any church that preaches anything contradicting God's word.. Is deceived by the dragon....

There is only one true church, it is called the body of Christ. Those that believe in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ 1 Cor 15 . Those that have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. Acts 2 ...and the Lord added to the assembly or church daily such as should be saved. Col 1 ...He is the head of the body the church. Religion is man made and anything man made has flaws, to answer your question there is no true religion.

the true church is actually the group of believers that follow God's laws. Various denominations have different views on different topics. I would say that the Baptist are a truer church than the methodist because methodist accept homosexualtiy. No one religion is going to be absolute and it is best to find one that follows the bible and doesn't try to modernize God's rules or condone immorality.

well first you have to understand what a church (congregation) is & then you have to determine if they are truly following the Bible God does not approve of churches that teach things that are not consistant with the Bible here's an example Jesus gave

(Matthew 15:1-9) 15 Then there came to Jesus from Jerusalem Pharisees and scribes, saying: 2 “Why is it your disciples overstep the tradition of the men of former times? For example, they do not wash their hands when about to eat a meal.” 3 In reply he said to them: “Why is it YOU also overstep the commandment of God because of YOUR tradition? 4 For example, God said, ‘Honor your father and your mother’; and, ‘Let him that reviles father or mother end up in death.’ 5 But YOU say, ‘Whoever says to his father or mother: “Whatever I have by which you might get benefit from me is a gift dedicated to God,” 6 he must not honor his father at all.’ And so YOU have made the word of God invalid because of YOUR tradition. 7 YOU hypocrites, Isaiah aptly prophesied about YOU, when he said, 8 ‘This people honors me with their lips, yet their heart is far removed from me. 9 It is in vain that they keep worshiping me, because they teach commands of men as doctrines.. . .

Now Jesus was talking about a mainstream church, the one he belonged to Judism. but this also applies to all religions

There is only one Church, regardless of how many churches there are. IF you are a born-again believe in Jesus Christ, you are a member of the body of Christ, and thus the Church. what denomination you follow is up to you, and God's probably not very concerned with it. He's not going to be asking, on the Judgment Day, "Were you Southern Baptist?"
