Everywhere i look you have to pay for translations. Any ideas where i can get the translations done for free and have them mean exactly what i want them to mean?

Seriously? Why not just get your daughter's names in a language you can actually understand? Doesn't that make more sense?

When you get a translation for European names into Eastern characters it's simply a sound for sound thing.

Another option to consider is getting the meaning of each of their names and translating that into the equivalent kanji- though both will probably be a lil wierd.

The links below are the meanings of their names.

If you know somone that can speak the language and you trust I would ask them, but I would be very wary of getting them in kanji without really getting it checked properly, sometimes they can't be translated exactly into what you want.

Kanji isn't a language. It's made up. You could try Japanese or Chinese. A real tattoo shop would have it in a book. They wouldn't be a direct translation either. It would be close maybe.

The best thing to do is get the "meaning" of their names instead of the name in general. Try these out.

Go to www.about.com and then type in Chinese characters. They have loads of names and words that are translated there for you. Good luck.

My husband is Japanese and he and all his friends who are also Japanese think it's dumb when white people get Japanese Kanji symbols unless you are really into the culture.
