Building muscle entails excersizing. The more you exercise, build muscle, the better your metabolism will become. The better your metabolism is, the more you will burn fat. I'm not really sure if the muscle "burns" the fat, but the increase metabolism you gain from building muscle does help burn fat.

Assuming you have put your body in a position to use fat for energy by eating right and exercising, your muscles can use fat for energy. Your major organs (heart and brain for instance) can't use fat for energy, they can only use glucose.
So, the more muscle mass you have, the greater your metabolism, and the greater your ability to burn fat for energy.
Hope that helps,

I believe it's, "muscle burns more calories than fat". Which means that having good muscle tone will help you burn more calories in daily activities.

I'm almost certain - yes. I don't know if it "burns" it, but it pretty much does. So yes. What a stupid answer.
I, luckily, get muscle easily. :]
