I need some help on the case of region codes,my dad and loads of relatives live in america and they want to get me some games from america for my ps3,i am from london which means i hv a european system and i need to know if american games can work on european systems.

Yes. Unlike the PS2 which would require a mod chip to play outer region games, PS3 games is made to not need any mod chips to play other region games. Any PS3 is compatible with any PS3 games.

Should do.
The games for the PS3 are region free, but the Blu-ray, PS2 and 1 games wont work.

Yes they will work. PS3 games are region free so tht means PAL games can work on an NTSC PS3 and vice-verca.
